The invention discloses preparation method and application of a binary electrolyte gel polymer electrolyte. The preparation method comprises the following steps of 1, mixing and dissolving an electrolyte and distilled water to form a conductive solution; 2, adding an electrolyte used as a carrier into the conductive solution to form a binary electrolyte gel electrolyte; and 3, applying the prepared binary electrolyte gel polymer electrolyte into a fuel cell, and performing charge-discharge test to achieve a stable discharging potential curve. The binary electrolyte comprises the electrolyte and the electrolyte used as the carrier, wherein the electrolyte is one of anhydrous sodium sulfate, anhydrous sodium carbonate or anhydrous potassium carbonate, the electrolyte used as the carrier is sodium polyacrylate, and the binary electrolyte gel polymer electrolyte is applied to the fuel cell. According to the preparation method and application of the binary electrolyte gel polymer electrolyte, and the successfully-prepared binary electrolyte gel polymer electrolyte is applied to a hydrogen fuel cell and has the advantages of practicability, environmental-friendliness, safety, low cost and the like.
