Adaptive up-sample filtering is used to improve compression efficiency of spatially scalable coding systems by more effectively predicting the high-resolution (enhanced-layer) video (or image) from the low-resolution lower-layer video (or image). Different up-sample filters adaptive to local image properties are selectively used for different portions of a low resolution frame to generate a better up-sampled image. Selection between different up-sample filters is determined by a variety of different information available to both the encoder and decoder. In one embodiment, the up-sample filters are selected by the encoder and then explicitly identified to the decoder. Other techniques are then used to minimize the cost of transmitting the up-sample filter identifiers. In alternative embodiments, the encoder and decoder independently make up-sample filters selections.

Single-image super-resolution reconstruction method based on deep residual network

The invention discloses a single-image super-resolution reconstruction method based on a deep residual network. The method of the invention mainly comprises a first step of performing block extraction and pixel averaging processing on an image in a sample image database to obtain a corresponding high resolution and low resolution training image sets; a second step of constructing a deep convolutional neutral network with a residual structure for iterative training, and then inputting the training set obtained in the first step to the neural network constructed in the second step for iterative training; and a third step of according to a data model obtained by training, realizing the continuous up-scaling of the input low resolution image through the combination of iterative operation and an interpolation algorithm. By introducing a deep residual network and introducing an upsampling layer at the end of the network, the method of the invention accelerates the processing speed of the image up-scaling, enhances the display effect of the image details, obtains a better image super-resolution reconstruction effect, and has a wide range of applications in the image high definition display, image compression, security checks and other fields.

Provided are a method and an apparatus for image processing. A scene includes a low resolution depth image and a high resolution color image. A depth image up-scaler up-scales the depth image using an interpolation so as to improve the resolution of the depth image. A color-depth similarity based filter removes noise from the up-scaled depth image using the color image and the up-scaled depth image. A boundary sharpening filter converts a boundary between objects in the up-scaled depth image into a clearer boundary. The resolution of the depth image may increase to the level of the resolution of the color image by means of the depth image up-scaler, the color-depth similarity based filter and the boundary sharpening filter, and the depth of each pixel in the depth image may be adjusted.

The magnification results of the image and the high-frequency portion are then processed by a fusion process, so as to output an image having sharp but not blocky edges, rich details and strong contrast.

Metal nano articles were incorporated into wood. Ionic liquids were used to expand the wood cell wall structure for nanoparticle incorporation into the cell wall structure. Nanoparticles of elemental gold or silver were found to be effective surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) imaging contrast or sensing agents. Nanoparticles of elemental iron were found to be efficient microwave absorbers and caused localized heating for disrupting the integrity of the lignocellulosic matrix. Controls suggest that the localized beating around the iron nanoparticles reduces losses of cellulose in the form of water volatiles and CO2. The ionic liquid is needed during the incorporation process at room temperature. The use of small amounts of ionic liquid combined with the absence of an ionic liquid purification step and a lower energy and water use are expected to reduce costs in an up-scaled pretreatment process.

Through the utilization of the two-color thermometer and the high-resolution industrial camera, both high-precision full-field high temperature measurement and high-precision strain measurement are realized.

The seismic data is then inverted to map the chemostratigraphic signatures of reservoir in three dimensions.
