The invention discloses a physical constitution detection method, which comprises the following steps: 1, continuously shooting testee images at a fixed frame rate by virtue of a camera, and extracting human body postures in the images; 2, analyzing the human body postures extracted from each frame of image according to a time sequence, finding a frame of image in which the human body posture is a detected posture, and marking the frame as an initial frame; 3, continuing performing backward searching to the frame of image at an interval of a preset frame number with the initial frame according to the time sequence by taking the initial frame as the first frame, and marking the frame as an ending frame; 4, counting all the frames from the initial frame to the ending frame, calculating duration from the initial frame to the ending frame in combination with the total frame number and the fixed frame rate, simultaneously obtaining the motion displacement of a testee according to human body posture and position changes from the initial frame to the ending frame, and calculating the physical constitution data of the testee according to the motion displacement. The invention further discloses a corresponding physical constitution detection system. According to the method and the system, vertical jumping items during physical constitution detection can be automatically measured, and the measurement accuracy is high.
