A fresh air controller interfaces directly with the electromechanical circuit of an air-conditioner to control its operating settings based upon detected Carbon Dioxide (CO2) level in Parts-Per-Million (PPM) using a “Capno-Switch” which is in essence a specially designed single-beam NDIR CO2 sensor enhanced with features and specifications to render it rugged, compact and very low-cost; unlike conventional single-beam NDIR CO2 sensors, the “Capno-Switch” is capable of providing long-term stability and accuracy in CO2 measurements. The operating settings it can control for the air-conditioner include 1) shutting off the fan, cooling unit and fresh air damper to save energy when the detected CO2 level in the cold air duct is less than 600 PPM; 2) turning on only the fan when the CO2 level is between 600-1,000 PPM; 3) turning on both the fan and the cooling unit when the CO2 level is between 1,000-2,000 PPM and 4) starting to open the fresh air damper to let fresh air in when the CO2 level is in excess of 2,000 PPM. With the incorporation of the “Capno-Switch” as a fresh air controller, air-conditioners can now provide good indoor air quality while at the same time save energy by effectively shutting itself down when nobody is detected to be present.

High-power isolation resistor of microwave power divider and design method of isolation resistor

The invention relates to a high-power isolation resistor of a microwave power divider and a design method of the isolation resistor. A double-lead flange resistor is adopted, the inner pattern of the isolation resistor is of a structure shaped like a Chinese character 'wang' so that the area can be narrowed, stray capacitance is reduced, and meanwhile the influences on power capacity are reduced. The high-power isolation resistor is large in size and is provided with a heat dissipation metal base, the larger packaging size needs to be selected when the requirement for power capacity is higher, and therefore the influences of the stray capacitance on performance of the power divider are larger. The ANSOFT Designer software and the ANSOFT HFSS software are used for conducting collaborative simulation, the size of the inner pattern of the isolation resistor also serves as an optimization variable of three-dimensional electromagnetic field full-wave simulation and is optimized together with the size of a microwave transmission line in the power divider, and therefore the best inner pattern of the isolation resistor can be finally obtained while power capacity is not influenced, and the design of the resistor is completed.

Power amplifier share in wireless communication system with transmitting diversity

The technique of amplifier sharing is implemented in a system designed to accommodate transmit diversity. In one embodiment of the invention, the amplifiers (670 and 675) are shared 1) to amplify a first and a second diversity-encoded signal, each of which represents the information of a first signal that is to be transmitted using transmit diversity, and 2) to amplify a second signal to be transmitted without using transmit diversity. The first and second diversity-encoded signals are used to form a first and a second composite signal. Each composite signal is amplified in a different one of two power amplifiers (670 and 675). Each amplified composite signal is then used to form an amplified first diversity-encoded signal and an amplified second diversity-encoded signal. The first and second composite signals can also be formed using the second signal. Each composite signal is then amplified in a different one of the two power amplifiers (670 and 675) and the two amplified composite signals are used to form an amplified second signal. In another embodiment of the invention, the first and second composite signals can be formed in the digital domain. Each composite signal is digitally pre-distorted and then modulated onto a transmission frequency signal, such as an RF signal. Each pre-distorted composite signal is then amplified in the respective amplifier (670 and 675).

The invention also provides the frequency regulating device for realizing the method.
