In quantum physics, a virtual state is a very short-lived, unobservable quantum state. In many quantum processes a virtual state is an intermediate state, sometimes described as "imaginary" in a multi-step process that mediates otherwise forbidden transitions. Since virtual states are not eigenfunctions of anything, normal parameters such as occupation, energy and lifetime need to be qualified. No measurement of a system will show one to be occupied, but they still have lifetimes derived from uncertainty relations. While each virtual state has an associated energy, no direct measurement of its energy is possible but various approaches have been used to make some measurements (for example see and related work on virtual state spectroscopy) or extract other parameters using measurement techniques that depend upon the virtual state's lifetime. A network appliance for monitoring, diagnosing and documenting problems among a plurality of devices and processes (objects) coupled to a computer network utilizes periodic polling and collection of object-generated trap data to monitor the status of objects on the computer network. The status of a multitude of objects is maintained in memory utilizing virtual state machines which contain a small amount of persistent data but which are modeled after one of a plurality of finite state machines. The memory further maintains dependency data related to each object which identifies parent / child relationships with other objects at the same or different layers of the OSI network protocol model. A decision engine verifies through on-demand polling that a device is down. A root cause analysis module utilizes status and dependency data to locate the highest object in the parent / child relationship tree that is affected to determine the root cause of a problem. Once a problem has been verified, a “case” is opened and notification alerts may be sent out to one or more devices. A user interface allows all objects within the network to be displayed with their respective status and their respective parent / child dependency objects in various formats.

The invention provides a simulation method for a four-rotor aircraft, and relates to a real-time simulation method of an unmanned aircraft. The simulation method for the four-rotor aircraft solves the problems that an existing semi-physical simulation system is huge in size, complex in connection, low in accuracy due to the fact that virtual state variables exist in simulation, and low in accuracy of a model obtained through modeling applying a controller design method based on the models and a numerical simulation system mechanism, wherein the controller design method based on the models and the numerical simulation system mechanism cannot be applied to modeling easily. According to the simulation method for the four-rotor aircraft, the actual aircraft is regarded as the controlled object and connected to a simulation circuit, and a reference is provided for the numerical simulation models obtained by mechanism modeling in MATLAB/Simulink, so that accuracy of aircraft mechanism modeling can be verified rapidly. A parameter recognition method is adopted so as to guarantee accuracy of objective models in numerical simulation, so that feasible controllers are verified in the numerical simulation and the controllers can be finally effectively applied to actual physical objects.
