An image of said computer controlled reticle is created on said workpiece, wherein said pixels in said computer controlled reticle are arranged in alternate states along at least a part of one feature edge in order to create a smaller address grid. Apparatus for Extracting Cold-Brewed Coffee Concentrate

The invention provides an hourglass shaped apparatus for cold brewing coffee, comprising a brew chamber, and extract chamber and a middle unit connecting the brew and extract chambers. The extract and brew chambers comprise two ends of the hourglass shaped middle unit. The brew chamber houses a free-standing self-contained filter containing coffee grounds inside a water-permeable barrier. Water is poured into the brew chamber to generate coffee extract through cold water infusion. After the brewing process, the apparatus is inverted, and the coffee travels into the extract chamber through the middle unit for dispensing. Coffee brewed in this manner is less acidic and more flavorful than the conventionally hot-brewed beverage. All the components of the apparatus, the filter, the brew chamber, the extract chamber, and the middle unit, are detachable.

Apparatus for the latching and unlatching of a load

An improved apparatus for latching and unlatching a load from a sling comprises a housing attachable to a load lift line extending from a crane or other similar equipment. Contained at least partially within the housing is a load engaging assembly including a latch, such as a conventional sling hook used to attach a load containing sling. The load engaging assembly further includes a latch attachment assembly and an unlatching trigger assembly. The apparatus further includes a load activated lock operatively attached to the latch attaching assembly to latch and unlatch the load engaging assembly. The load activated lock includes a support structure affixed to the housing, a latch activating member slidably mounted on the support structure and a movable locking structure positioned within the housing and operatively adjacent the latch activating member to engage and prevent latch activating member from sliding movement when a load is applied to the latch. The apparatus further includes a compression switch affixed to the housing at a position to be activated when a load of a predetermined weight is attached to the latch. The apparatus further includes at least one remote controlled relay switches electrically connecting the compression switch, or alternatively a second compression switch, to the power unit of an adjustable clutch motor having a rotating drive shaft. The apparatus also including a remote control broadcasting device to emit predetermined signals to close at least one of the remote controlled relay switches. The drive shaft is attached a reel line affixed at its opposite end to the latch activating member. The drive shaft when activated will cause the reel line retract to operatively cause the latch activating member to move and cause the latch to be positioned for releasing the sling from the latch.

A method is provided that includes a number of operations performed in real-time during flight of the aircraft. That is, the method may include monitoring a continuous electrical signal output by a sensor on a surface of the aircraft, where a magnitude of the electrical signal may be related to an amount of ice buildup. The method may include calculating a liquid water content (LWC) value as a function of a rate of change of the electrical signal, and iteratively calculating a total water exposure (TWE) value as a function of the LWC value. The TWE value may represent a total water exposure of the aircraft from a time of an initial event, and may be calculated as a running total over a plurality of iterations. And the method may include performing a remedial or alert action in an instance in which the TWE value reaches a TWE threshold.

Resonant power converter for radio frequency transmission and method

A resonant power converter for ultra-efficient radio frequency transmission and associated methods. In one exemplary embodiment, the invention is digitally actuated and uses a combination of a noise-shaped encoder, a charging switch, and a high-Q resonator coupled to an output load, typically an antenna or transmission line. Energy is built up in the electric and magnetic fields of the resonator, which, in turn, delivers power to the load with very little wasted energy in the process. No active power amplifier is required. The apparatus can be used in literally any RF signal application (wireless or otherwise), including for example cellular handsets, local- or wide-area network transmitters, or even radio base-stations.
