A device, method, and system for a fluid cooled channeled heat exchange device is disclosed. The fluid cooled channeled heat exchange device utilizes fluid circulated through a channel heat exchanger for high heat dissipation and transfer area per unit volume. The device comprises a highly thermally conductive material, preferably with less than 200 W/m-K. The preferred channel heat exchanger comprises two coupled flat plates and a plurality of fins coupled to the flat plates. At least one of the plates preferably to receive flow of a fluid in a heated state. The fluid preferably carries heat from a heat source (such as a CPU, for example). Specifically, at least one of the plates preferably comprises a plurality of condenser channels configured to receive, to condense, and to cool the fluid in the heated state. The fluid in a cooler state is preferably carried from the device to the heat source, thereby cooling the heat source.

An apparatus (10) for generating a sequence of blocks of randomly permuted multi-bit data elements includes an input register (12) that produces a repeating block of distinct input data elements from which output blocks of permuted data elements are generated. A method for fabricating a reinforced matrix composite comprising the step of providing a composite preform having a fibrous structure and applying matrix material onto the preform in locations along the preform. A barrier material is applied to at least a portion of the coated preform to direct the flow of matrix material into the preform. The composite preform is heated to a temperature sufficient to render the matrix material viscous and insufficient to cure the matrix material. The pressure to the interior of the composite preform is reduced, while the pressure to the barrier material is increased. The temperature is maintained to flow the matrix material into the composite preform and to force gases from the fibrous structure. The composite preform is then cured and cooled to form a reinforced matrix composite having a low void content and a substantially uniform matrix distribution.

A flexible heating cover assembly for an apparatus for heating samples of biological material with substantial temperature uniformity includes a housing having a plurality of engageable enclosure components; a resistive heater having a plurality of heater element areas; a heater backing plate providing stability to the resistive heater; a force distribution system that distributes a force over the heater backing plate; and a support plate providing stiffness for the force distribution system, wherein the arrangement of the resistive heater, the heater backing plate, the force distribution system and the support plate provide substantial temperature uniformity among a plurality of sample tubes for receiving samples of biological material. Disclosed herein are optical assemblies having thin, low profile shapes. These optical assemblies may be used with fiber coupled lasers and other light sources, including high power sources, to irradiate tissue at a wavelength suitable for inducing ablation or coagulation to a target depth, denaturation, thermal modification of a tissue, and/or preferential injury to a target tissue structure. Example optical assemblies can produce substantially uniform illumination patterns that are useful for treating superficial tissue, including the internal or luminal (e.g., esophageal) tissue. Some examples may have capability for cooling superficial tissue or skin, such as a detachable, reusable heat sink for active cooling without consumables, fluid pumps, or other cooling equipment.

The present disclosure generally relates to data storage devices, and more specifically, to a magnetic media drive employing a magnetic recording head. The head includes a trailing shield, a main pole, an STO disposed between the trailing shield and the main pole, and a non-magnetic conductive structure (or non-magnetic conductive layers) adjacent to the main pole and in contact with the STO. The non-magnetic conductive structure provides additional paths for electrical currents to flow to the STO. The non-magnetic conductive structure enables higher current density to the STO without creating hot spots at the MFS. Maximum current efficiency and uniformity can be achieved with the non-magnetic conductive structure.

A method for producing a polymer composite fiber comprised of a polymer matrix with filaments incorporated therein whose lengthwise dimensions are substantially oriented with the axial dimension of the composite fiber, the method comprising subjecting a melt comprised of a polymer matrix and filaments to an extrusion process in which the melt is extruded into a fibrous form in the absence of screw extruders and in the substantial absence of shear forces that result in breakage of the filaments, followed by cooling and solidification of the extruded melt to provide the polymer composite fiber. Integration of these polymer composite fibers with additive manufacturing technologies, particularly rapid prototyping methods, such as FFF and 3D printing, are also described. An apparatus for roasting and cooling loose products includes an oven with a housing including an upper and a lower section with glass doors. The apparatus has an air and a gas distribution grid connected to the upper and lower sections. In addition, the apparatus includes a high-pressure ventilator in the upper section having an outlet connected to the air duct, a rotor drum installed over the gas distribution grid, a feeding tray located in the upper section, a heater located in the lower section and configured to heat air and a hopper located on top of the housing above the rotor drum and configured to feed the loose products into the oven. The hopper includes one or more strain gauges configured to weigh the loose products. An opening located adjacent the hopper intakes fresh air intake and outtakes humidified air and a horizontal cooler chills the loose products.
