Product tracking and alert system

A radio transponder encoded with a serial number that is linked to a vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) is installed on a vehicle at time of manufacturer. When the vehicle is tendered for repairs, an electronic interrogator detects the presence of the vehicle, reads its VIN, and checks a database of safety recalls applicable to that VIN, recall repairs completed, state consumer protection Lemon Laws applicable to that vehicle, and the vehicle's service history. This information is all stored within a relational database that can be viewed via the Internet with user friendly computer interfaces. In addition, electronic alerts are automatically generated and sent indicating which safety recall repairs have yet to be performed for that vehicle, and whether any Lemon Law repair limits are being approached or have been exceeded. The system helps to ensure that all applicable safety recall repairs are completed for each vehicle, and that the manufacturer can get involved before expensive consumer remedies such as buy-back requirements are triggered. The system also allows lenders to conduct inventory remote, electronic inventory audits and it allows dealers to more easily locate and manage inventory, conduct warranty repairs, and seek warranty reimbursements.

Apparatus, systems and methods are provided for the use of multiple organic Rankine cycle (ORC) systems that generate mechanical and / or electric power from multiple co-located waste heat flows using a specially configured system of multiple expanders operating at multiple temperatures and / or multiple pressures (“MP”) utilizing a common working fluid. The multiple ORC cycle system accepts waste heat energy at different temperatures and utilizes a single closed-loop cycle of organic refrigerant flowing through all expanders in the system, where the distribution of heat energy to each of the expanders allocated to permit utilization of up to all available heat energy, In some embodiments, the multiple ORC system maximizes the output of the waste energy recovery process. The expanders can be operatively coupled to one or more generators that convert the mechanical energy of the expansion process into electrical energy.

Using a backend simulator to test and develop xforms templates before linking the xforms templates to backend data processing systems

A solution for developing XForms projects can bind an XForms template to a backend simulator, during a development or test stage of a software development. The XForms template can be developed by an interface designer, such as a business analyst. The XForms template can be conveyed to remotely located clients. Data instances associated with the XForms template can be received and routed to the backend simulator for processing. An integration code developer can later integrate the XForms templates to a backend server instead of to the backend simulator. Accordingly, the solution accelerates XForms based development projects by decoupling XForms interface development from XForms system integration development, which are typically handled by different people having different skill sets.

The removable dewatering device is adapted for use in a retention basin, and filters debris from water passing there through. The present invention has an inner filter and an outer filter. The current conventional process for cleaning a retention basin filter device of debris is time consuming and arduous. Usually, retention basins must be completely drained in order to clean the filtration devices. The present invention is removed then cleaned and maintained while the retention basin is full of water, and requires considerably less effort and expense for maintenance and cleaning.

Drivers cab for a load-handling vehicle

There is provided an alternative construction of driver's cab (1) for a load-handling vehicle and in particular an alternative construction of door (5) for a driver's cab. The door (5) is pivotally mounted on one of the uprights (13) of the driver's cab (1) and does not protrude outwardly from the driver's cab when opened or closed. The door (5) is mounted so that it effectively pivots about its own substantially vertical plane. The door (5) is provided with a locking mechanism that allows the door to be secured in position relative the upright (13) without the need for additional locking members being mounted on another of the uprights (13) on the driver's cab. The construction of driver's cab is lightweight and compact and allows for a more simplified manufacture by virtue of the omission of additional components.

Conformal lithium polymer battery

This invention is a method of fabricating a conformal lithium polymer battery comprising the steps of: selecting a slab of lithium polymer battery material of a desired height, containing a desired number of cells; freezing the slab; vertically cutting the slab to a desired shape; attaching a lead to each anode conductor; and attaching a lead to a each cathode conductor. The slab may contain one or many cells. The leads may be made of multistranded, metallic wire, metallic ribbon, low melting point alloy, self-healing metal, and litz wire. Attachment is accomplished so as to minimize tension on the leads. The cut slab may need to be deburred after cutting and before attaching leads. Preferably, burr formation is prevented by recessing the edge of the anodic or cathodic half cells. Lead attachment my be accomplished by: wire bonding; wedge bonding; adhesive bonding with conductive epoxy, anistotropic conductive adhesive or conductive thermoplastic; stapling; adhering the lead to the electrode by electropolymerization; welding; and growing a lead in place by electroless plating, electro-plating or a combination of electroless plating and electroplating. The distal ends of the leads may be connected together so that the cells are connected together in series, in parallel or some in series and the remainder in parallel. After the leads have been attached to the cut slab and connected together, the assembly will preferably be wrapped with standard packaging for lithium polymer batteries.

Support element for use in the analysis of substances

In a carrier medium having at least two defined regions, biological and / or chemical substances are applied to the regions of the carrier medium for analyzing an analyte. The carrier medium is also provided with a stored code that indicates which biological and / or chemical substance is located in which defined region. The application of multiple biological and / or chemical substances to one carrier medium enables multiple analyses to be performed simultaneously on the analyte. This approach reduces the required quantities of the biological and / or chemical substances needed to perform the desired analyses of the analyte. The carrier medium itself does not reveal which biological and / or chemical substance is located in which region; this information may instead be provided by the code.
