The phase checking device housing is a square three-dimensional structure; the contacts comprise contact A1, contact B1, contact C1, contact A2, contact B2, and contact C2; the LED indicating lamps comprise lamp L1, lamp L2, lamp L3, lamp L4, lamp L5, and lamp L6; the LED indicating lamps are arranged on the front surface of the phase checking device housing in two rows and three columns; one side of the phase checking device housing is provided with the contact A1, contact B1, and contact C1, and the other side of the phase checking device housing is provided with the contact A2, contact B2, and contact C2; the phase checking device housing is internally provided with a phase checking device which is in connection with the contacts, the switch and the LED lamps. The invention also discloses a phase checking method utilizing the three-phase type ring network cabinet secondary phase checking device. The device and method can directly observe which phase breaks down, enhance phase checking accuracy, and greatly simplify operation.
