Remote meter reader using a network sensor system and protocol

A system and method is provided for automatically reading meters, such as utility meters. A camera unit is attached to or otherwise associated with an existing meter. From time to time, either automatically, or upon wireless command, the camera unit takes an image of the meter's readings, and communicates wirelessly the image or image data, to a local area receiver. The images can be transmitted immediately, or stored for later transmission, depending on the network protocol. The camera unit is battery powered, and operates communication protocols that enable extended operational life. These protocols allow for the camera's radio and processor to be turned on only when necessary, and then for only brief periods of time. At most times, the camera is in a power-conserving sleep mode. Multiple camera units may be arranged to communicate meter image data to the local area receiver, either using asynchronous or synchronous processes. In this way, star, point-to-point, MESH and ring networking topologies are enabled. The meter image data is communicated from the receiver to a central office using a wide area connection, where the image data is used for determining the meter reading. In one example, the image may be included with a utility bill as confirmed evidence of the current meter reading.

Dynamic loading methods based on servo motor

The invention relates to dynamic loading methods based on a servo motor, belonging to the field of motors and solving the problem that the properties of a direct-current motor can not satisfy the requirements of an electric loading system. The first method comprises the following steps of: transmitting a driving torque instruction value and an initial braking torque instruction value by utilizing a system controller according to the given loading spectrum to drive a measured motor to rotate; meanwhile, driving a loading motor to generate a braking torque for loading the measured motor; and then, feeding back the actual output torque value applied to the measured motor by the loading motor through adopting a torque/rotary speed sensor, and regulating the braking torque instruction value by utilizing the system controller according to a deviation so that the actual output torque value applied to the measured motor by the loading motor rapidly tracks the initial braking torque instruction value. The second method of the invention comprises the following steps of: calibrating the input and output torque relation curve of the loading motor by using the torque/rotary speed sensor, and then transmitting the driving torque instruction value and the braking torque instruction by using the system controller according to the given loading spectrum and the relation curve to load the measured motor.

Fish swimming capability measuring method and submerged open-type testing device

ActiveCN103202254AConstant internal and external environmental conditionsRealize the actual measurementClimate change adaptationPisciculture and aquariaWater qualityEngineering
The invention provides a fish swimming capability measuring method and a submerged open-type measuring device. The method includes 1, making preparation before experiments; 2, testing and correcting systems; 3, testing swimming capabilities of fishes; 4, collecting experiment data; and 5, maintaining and cleaning the systems. A water outlet tube with a water level adjusting device is mounted at the bottom of a water tank of the submerged open-type testing device. A support, an experiment table base, a stabilizing cove and a testing tube are mounted in the water tank. A water current creating system formed by a motor, a water inlet hole and a vane wheel is arranged at one end of the testing tube. The water current creating system and a test area with an inspection window are respectively connected with two ends of a rectifying device. The test area with the inspection window is connected with a flow rate test area. A current meter is mounted in the flow rate test area connected with a water level control area. A water current flow rate monitor, a frequency conversion controller and a water quality monitor are mounted on a control panel. A water inlet tube is mounted at one end of the upper portion of the water tank.

Method for estimating angular acceleration of permanent magnet brushless direct-current motor

The invention discloses a method for estimating angular acceleration of a permanent magnet brushless direct-current motor, which includes establishing a sliding mode observer and observing components of counter potential of the brushless direct current motor to obtain a counter potential observed value; performing filtration through a band-pass filter and filtering direct current offset and high-frequency components of the counter potential observed value to obtain a filtered value of the counter potential observed value; normalizing the filtered counter potential observed value; and establishing an extended Kalman filter according to a kinematical equation of the brushless direct current motor, extracting location information from a normalized value of the counter potential and then estimating to obtain an angular acceleration value. The method uses the location information included in the counter potential to estimate the angular acceleration of the permanent magnet brushless direct-current motor, so that the problems of long delay and poor precision in computed results caused by the fact that the angular acceleration computation of the permanent magnet brushless direct current motor in prior art is influenced by processing precision of Hoer position sensors and is restricted by resolution ratios are solved.
