Disclosed herein is an acoustic diaphragm for converting electrical signals into mechanical signals to produce sounds. The acoustic diaphragm comprises carbon nanotubes or graphite nanofibers as major materials. Preferably, the carbon nanotubes or graphite nanofibers are included or dispersed in the acoustic diaphragm. Since the acoustic diaphragm has excellent physical properties in terms of elastic modulus, internal loss and strength, it can effectively achieve superior sound quality and high output in a particular frequency band as well as in a broad frequency band.

Hearing aid with large diaphragm microphone element including a printed circuit board

A disposable-type hearing aid uses a relatively large single diaphragm or a large single diaphragm subdivided into a plurality of smaller active diaphragm areas obtained using a grate-like back support plate with ridges which contact and divide the diaphragm into the several smaller active diaphragm areas. The diaphragm and a backplate are enclosed in a metal housing and are disposed proximal and parallel to a shell-like hearing aid enclosure having sound inlets. The metal housing is closed at an end opposite the sound inlets by a printed circuit board (PCB) forming an acoustical seal for a back volume of the microphone. The PCB also carries substantially all the electronic components for the hearing aid thereon. The PCB has a ground plane in contact with the housing whereby the PCB also acts as an EMI shield. An electrical connection is formed in various ways between the back support plate and the PCB during assembly of the metal housing and components with the PCB. Mass production of disposable hearing aids with large diaphragms and relatively low noise levels is thus possible using this invention.

The present invention provides diamond tools, and methods for the formation thereof, using CVD techniques. In one aspect, a mold is provided which has an interface surface configured to inversely match a configuration intended for the working surface of a diamond layer in a tool. An adynamic diamond mass or layer is then deposited upon the diamond interface surface of the mold, and a support layer is joined to the growth surface of the adynamic diamond layer. At least a portion of the mold is then removed to expose the working surface of the diamond which has received a shape which inversely corresponds to the configuration of the mold's diamond interface surface.

The sound generating device comprises the metal plastic part; the metal plastic part comprises a plastic part body and a metal insert combined with the plastic part body; the surface of the metal insert is provided with an oxidation film layer obtained through metal nanometer treatment and nano-holes located on the surface of the oxidation film layer, and the hole diameter of the nano-holes ranges from 20 nm to 1,000 nm; the nano-holes are filled with a resin composition for preparing the plastic part body. According to the sound generating device and the preparation method of the metal plastic part, the nano-holes are filled with the resin composition from which the plastic part body is prepared, therefore, the purpose that the metal insert and the plastic part body are closely attached to each other is achieved, the adhesive grasping capability of the metal inset is greatly enhanced, and the condition that the metal insert and the plastic part body are separated from each other after being subjected to injection molding is prevented; the length that the metal insert is embedded into the plastic part body is greatly decreased, therefore, ultrasonic energy is smoothly transmitted, the ultrasonic non-melting problem of the metal plastic part is effectively prevented, then the waterproofness and the sealing property of the metal plastic part are improved, and the properties of the sound generating device are improved.

Nanoporous diaphragm for electromagentic transducer

An electromagnetic transducer such as a tweeter audio speaker, having a very low density diaphragm constructed of a nanoporous material such as aerogel or the like. The solid aerogel diaphragm has improved rigidity and reduced susceptibility to breakup modes. The aerogel may be provided with a skin of e.g. metal, plastic, or oxide to protect it, and it may be built by filling a conventional cone. The skin may encapsulate part or all of the aerogel body's surface, and it may further encapsulate the bobbin, or even the entire voice coil assembly. The nanoporous material comprises a very large percentage of the diaphragm's overall volume, giving the diaphragm a very low overall mass density with respect to conventional diaphragms. This allows diaphragm configurations, such as solid filled spheres, which have excellent stiffness without suffering from the large mass that such shapes would mandate if constructed from conventional materials.

The contact member comprises a contact surface and the configuration is such that during operation each hinge joint is configured to allow the hinge element to move relative to the associated contact member, while maintaining a substantially consistent physical contact with the contact surface. The hinge assembly biases the hinge element towards the contact surface. Preferably the hinge assembly is configured to apply a biasing force to the hinge element of each joint toward the associated contact surface, compliantly. Various applications and implementations are described and envisaged for the audio transducer embodiments including, for example, personal audio devices such as headphones, earphones and the like.

Bobbin integrated type magnesium diaphragm, manufacturing method thereof, and speaker device using the diaphragm

In the rolling process, a rolling amount at each time of rolling by a rolling machine is set to 1 μm to 20 μm, and a magnesium substrate is heated by a constant temperature oven and rolled by rollers. Thus, a magnesium sheet of 30 μm to 100 μm is produced. This magnesium sheet is used to form a bobbin and a diaphragm integrally molded with each other, and the diaphragm is molded into a semi-dome shape or a dome shape. Thus, a bobbin integrated type magnesium diaphragm having the semi-dome shaped diaphragm or the dome shaped diagram is manufactured. The bobbin integrated type magnesium diaphragm is applied to a dynamic speaker device. As a result, the high-quality dynamic speaker device, which realizes high rigidity, high sensibility, high internal loss, less distortion and the like, is obtained.

Micro-transducer with improved perceived sound quality

The typical micro-transducer dedicated for mobile phones and headphones produces at high output in small back enclosure significant distortion in the acoustical output. These typical micro-transducers are designed for very high sensitivity and their mechanical suspension compliances are designed for worst case scenario, free air environment or a very large back enclosure (were the air stiffness from the back enclosure is much lower than the mechanical transducer suspension stiffness). This leads to poor low frequency response, high distortion, non-linear SPL characteristic and unnecessary high system resonance fre-quency when the transducer is placed in a small back enclosure. The Soft Suspension Long throw (SSL) micro-transducer has been designed with an improved non-circular shaped magnetic system, a low density / high Young's modulus thermal conducting diaphragm, a large-area non-circularly shaped diaphragm area, a non-circular shaped voice coil and a soft long-throw suspension which has been designed so that the SSL micro-transducer only functions properly when mounted in a small back enclosure. The combination of these inventions leads to a transducer architecture offering significant improvements in overall distortion, high RMS power handling, extended bass reproduction, also in compact volumes, and an overall flat frequency response. The combined result of several inventions is a significant overall improvement in perceived sound quality.
