Method and Apparatus for Hardware-Accelerated Encryption/Decryption

An integrated circuit for data encryption / decryption and secure key management is disclosed. The integrated circuit may be used in conjunction with other integrated circuits, processors, and software to construct a wide variety of secure data processing, storage, and communication systems. A preferred embodiment of the integrated circuit includes a symmetric block cipher that may be scaled to strike a favorable balance among processing throughput and power consumption. The modular architecture also supports multiple encryption modes and key management functions such as one-way cryptographic hash and random number generator functions that leverage the scalable symmetric block cipher. The integrated circuit may also include a key management processor that can be programmed to support a wide variety of asymmetric key cryptography functions for secure key exchange with remote key storage devices and enterprise key management servers. Internal data and key buffers enable the device to re-key encrypted data without exposing data. The key management functions allow the device to function as a cryptographic domain bridge in a federated security architecture.

Method and system for managing data in cache

Disclosed is a system for managing data in cache. A list of data entries in a first memory area has a first end and a second end, such as a most recently used (MRU) end and least recently used (LRU) end. A first pointer addresses a data entry in the list and a second pointer addresses another data entry in the list that is not at the first and second ends. Data from a second memory area is provided to add to the list. A determination is made as to whether the provided data to add to the list is one of a first type and second type of data, such as sequentially accessed data or non-sequentially accessed data. The provided data is stored in the first memory area as a new data entry in the list. The first pointer is modified to address the new data entry after determining that the provided data is of the first type. After determining that the provided data is of the second type, the second pointer is processed to determine where to add the new data entry to the list between the first and second ends.

The disclosure relates generally to methods and apparatus to optimize a supply plan through a hybrid meta-heuristic approach based on genetic algorithms to optimize inventory and generate a supply plan. The apparatuses include a supply chain planner that interacts with the processes of a supply chain network. To provide a complete optimization for the type of platform being deployed in theater a heuristic algorithm is devised to decompose the supply plan problem into a production center schedule and an asset routing problem, which will be tackled one after the other. The decomposed supply plan problem is solved with different heuristic algorithms. Namely, genetic algorithms are used to optimize the supply plans based on ever changing set of operational demands from in theater and the priority of those demands to the assigned depots, while efficient constructive heuristics are used to deal with footprint and timing constraints.

Systems and method of managing an inventory of service resources

In a method of managing an inventory of service resources, a plurality of criteria characterize service resources. The inventory of service resources is divided, based on the criteria, into plural elements, each comprising an exclusive subset of the service resources sharing common criteria. A plurality of groups is also created. Groups aggregate those of the elements that have at least one common criterion value. Groups and elements are offered for sale by the service provider. Elements belong in general to several groups. Service resources are, e.g., travel service or leisure resources such as airplane seats and hotel rooms. Customers or travel agents book in an element or in a group. The invention allows maximizing inventory availability while bookings are done by customers, on the basis of a specific request (in an element) or a more indefinite request (in a group). A specific inventory item is attributed later, i.e., at check-in.

Techniques for maintaining a substrate processing system

Techniques and systems for maintaining a plasma processing kit consisting of protection and shielding elements without causing damage are introduced. The elements may be made of aluminium, polysilicon and quartz and may be coated with silicon. The surfaces of the elemants show a specified roughness. Precision cleaning and recovery of the contamined kit components of a plasma doping (PLAD) system is used, to extend the life and reusability of the components. The methods described cover the stages of inspection, pre-cleaning, mechanical processing and texturing, post-cleaning, clean-room class cleaning and packaging of the components consisting of quartz, aluminium and / or silicon. Techniques described employ the combination of a variety of means (primarily chemical and mechanical) to achieve the desired levels of cleanliness. Device for indicating the locking state of a fifth wheel coupling and sensor arrangement

A device is described for indicating the locking state of a fifth wheel coupling and an arrangement of a first and a second sensor. According to the prior art, the first sensor is arranged on the underside of the locking latch and monitors the position of the kingpin in relation to the locking latch. A second sensor that is used is an inductive proximity switch that monitors a safety mechanism against loosening. In practice, this type of positioning of the first sensor has led to damage of the locking latch and the first sensor, while the signals of the second sensor were often false signals. Thus, the object of the invention is to provide a device for indicating the locking state, which maximizes operational availability and minimizes false signals. A further object of the invention is to optimize the arrangement of the first and the second sensor. These objects are attained by arranging the first sensor detecting the kingpin in the area of the locating hole and configuring the second sensor as a magnetically sensitive sensor that interacts with a magnet mounted on the operating lever. The two sensors are based on different mechanisms of action.
