Fast duplicate address detection entity for managing information for fast duplicate address detection in distribution system and fast duplicate address detection method using the same

A fast Duplicate Address Detection (DAD) Entity in a distribution system including multiple Access Points and multiple mobile nodes associated therewith. The fast DAD entity includes a memory unit for storing an address table recording information including IP addresses of the multiple mobile nodes; an interface unit for receiving Neighbor Solicitation messages that includes an IP address from a mobile node newly associated with the distribution system; a record unit for extracting the IP address of new mobile node from the Neighbor Solicitation messages, and recording the IP address in the address table; a search unit for searching the IP addresses of the multiple mobile nodes stored in the address table; a decision unit for comparing the IP address of the new mobile node with the IP addresses of the multiple mobile nodes already configured with the sub-network, and deciding whether there already present the same IP address; and a control unit for generating a response message notifying that the IP address of the new mobile node is confirmed as unique and can be used as new Care-of Address (CoA), and sending the response message to the new mobile node through the interface unit, if there does not exist the same IP address as a result of the decision of the decision unit.

Building control system communication system timing measurement arrangement and method

An arrangement for handling communication messages in a building control system includes a communication circuit and a control device. The communication circuit is operable to generate first message and provide the first message on a communication network addressed to a remote building control system device. The communication circuit is also operable to receive a responsive message from the remote building control system device via the communication network, the responsive message generated by the remote building control system device responsive to the first message. The communication circuit is further operable to perform a first operation if the responsive message is received within a first time-out period, the communication circuit operable to perform a second operation if the responsive message is received after a first time-out period has expired. The control device is operably coupled to the communication circuit and is operable to use information from first message in a first application. The control device has a second application operable to generate a plurality of different time-out period values corresponding to a plurality of building control system devices, the plurality of different time-out period values including a value identifying the first time-out period the second application of the control device is further operable to provide information identifying the plurality of different time-out period values and their corresponding building control system devices to the communication circuit.

Parallel merge/sort processing device, method, and program

In the basic form of merge processing, that is sort processing, two sorted partial data string pairs are input, and one series of sorted data string is output as a whole. Conventionally, high parallelism of this processing has been considered difficult. A method for dividing a sorted partial data string pair into a plurality of segment pairs, if invented, would allow an advanced parallel merge processing to be performed even in a homogeneous configuration parallel computer system, such as a tightly coupled multi-processor sharing a main storage. The basis of merge processing is processing to input a pair of two sorted partial data strings and to output one sorted data string. A method for sub-dividing this input data string pair into arbitrary data string pairs from the first part of both data strings of the input data string pair, while considering the magnitude of the key value, has been invented. This method, if implemented, enables a merge operation at a parallelism k if the data string is divided into any number of data string pairs, for example, k sets of data string pairs, and if merging in descending order (merging the data string pair from the first part to the last part thereof, and outputting it from the first part to the last part in the output area) and merging in ascending order (merging the data string pair from the last part to the first part thereof and outputting it from the last part to the first part in the output area) are used, a merge operation with a parallelism 2k can also be possible.
