Recording disk drive having shroud

A first shroud and a second shroud are opposed to the peripheral end surface of a recording disk at a certain constant distance. The second shroud is spaced downstream from the first shroud in the direction of the rotation of the recording disk. A shroud plate is opposed to the peripheral end surface of the recording disk at a position between the first and second shrouds. The shroud plate functions as a shroud. The shroud plate serves to suppress turbulence of airflow. Vibration of the recording disk can be suppressed. Moreover, if the shroud plate is designed to extend along a virtual plane perpendicular to the rotation axis of the recording disk, the airflow is prevented from staying between the first and second shrouds. The end wall and an adjacent minor part of the length of the shell comprise a replaceable lance tip assembly.

Airflow flows outward along the surface of the rotating recording disk based on the centrifugal force. The shroud plate serves to establish the continuity of the first and second shroud surfaces. The first and second shroud surfaces and the shroud plate serve to reliably suppress turbulence of the airflow. Vibration of the recording disk is suppressed than ever. An inflow opening is located in a space between the first and second shroud surfaces. The rectifier plate is located downstream of the inflow opening. The rectifier plate serves to direct the airflow flowing along the first shroud surface to the inflow opening. A larger amount of airflow can be introduced into the inflow opening. A dust catcher receives airflow of a sufficient amount.

Exhaust System for Steam Turbine

An exhaust system for a steam turbine provided with an improved annular flow guide in a high or intermediate turbine. The improved flow guide reduces flow turbulence in an exhaust hood and reduces pressure loss to thereby improve turbine plant efficiency.The shape (vertically symmetric) of a flow guide 5A according to a conventional technology was modified into the shape (vertically asymmetric) of a flow guide 5 such that the length of a downstream flow guide portion 5d is greater than that of a upstream flow guide portion 5u. Numerical analyses were performed to find the optimum flow guide occupation ratio of the conventional technology and the corresponding total pressure loss coefficient. The obtained values were used as reference values. Further, the flow guide occupation ratio of the upstream flow guide portion 5u was set at 0.4 and the flow guide occupation ratio of the downstream flow guide portion 5d was set at 0.7; at values where the total pressure loss coefficient becomes lower than the reference value. The rectification effect of the flow guide can thus be enhanced.

Provided is a BOAF treating method for purifying the water landscape, water system and water quality in the sealed small social region and the apparatus thereof. The method substitutes a drug feeding system necessary for all of the gas flotation apparatus by a biological reacting pool, mixes the original water in the water landscape and water system in the sealed small social region with the active bio-floculation from the BOAF pool. A mixed liquid flow formed by depositing in the biochemical reacting pool for a certain period is flowing into the BOAF pool for a treatment. The water output from the BOAF pool is returned to the water landscape and water system after sterilizing by the ultraviolet sterilizer. The mixing liquid flowing into the BOAF pool obtains a separation of the water output and the active bio-floculation by the means of gas flotation. The active bio-floculation returns to the front end of the biochemical reacting pool and continues to mix with the original water for a recycle reaction. A small part of water output forms the gas dissolving water and returns to the BOAF pool to provide slight bubbles for the bio-floculation separation. The system apparatus ensures a qualified landscape water and keeps a water environment balance in the water system in the sealed small social region.
