Passive physiological monitoring (P2M) system

Passive Physiological monitoring apparatus and method have a sensor for sensing physiological phenomenon. A converter converts sensed data into electrical signals and a computer receives and computes the signals, and outputs computed data for real-time interactive display. The sensor is a piezoelectric film of polyvinylidene fluoride. A band-pass filter filters out noise and isolates the signals to reflect data from the body. A pre-amplifier amplifies signals. Signals detected include mechanical, thermal and acoustic signatures reflecting cardiac output, cardiac function, internal bleeding, respiratory, pulse, apnea, and temperature. A pad may incorporate the PVDF film and may be fluid-filled. The film converts mechanical energy into analog voltage signals. Analog signals are fed through the band-pass filter and the amplifier. A converter converts the analog signals to digital signals. A Fourier transform routine is used to transform into the frequency domain. A microcomputer is used for recording, analyzing and displaying data for on-line assessment and for providing realtime response. A radio-frequency filter may be connected to a cable and the film for transferring signals from the film through the cable. The sensor may be an array provided in a MEDEVAC litter or other device for measuring acoustic and hydraulic signals from the body of a patient for field monitoring, hospital monitoring, transport monitoring, home, remote monitoring.

Apparatus for communicating over a network images captured by a digital camera

An apparatus is provided for communicating over a network images captured by a digital camera, such as a digital camera without an on-board network interface. The apparatus includes a housing separate from the digital camera having a processing unit with memory for storage of images, a camera interface card received in a memory card slot of the digital camera, and a cable or wireless connection coupling the camera interface card to the processing unit for data communication. The apparatus emulates a memory card to the digital camera, such that the digital camera's electronics operate with the memory of the processing unit through the camera interface card, as if such memory was on a memory card located in slot of the digital camera. Images captured by the digital camera are transferred, via the camera interface card and cable, to memory of the processing unit, and the digital camera can access images stored in memory of the processing unit. The processing unit has a wireless data network interface and Ethernet communication interface, whereby captured images stored in memory of the processing unit are queued in real-time for network transfer, and subsequently transferred via one of the network communication interfaces, to a computer system, such as an web site or file server, at a network destination address configurable in the processing unit. Data may be inputted by the user before and/or after image capture for association with images prior to their network transfer. The housing for the processing unit may be shaped like a motor drive unit and attached to the bottom of the camera, or worn by the user of the camera in the form of a belt pack or backpack.

System and method for combining computer video and remote universal serial bus in an extended cable

A system and method for operating a display device and one or more USB peripherals remotely from a host computer. The system may include a host computer, a display device, one or more USB compliant peripherals, a local extender operable to couple to the host computer system and a remote extender coupled to the local extender and to the display device and one or more USB peripherals. The local extender may be coupled to the remote extender through four twisted wire pairs which in one embodiment comprises a category 5 cable. The cable may be longer than the maximum length allowed by the USB specification. The host computer system may generate a video signal intended for the display device, as well as one or more peripheral signals intended for the one or more USB peripherals. The video signals may be received by the local extender from the host computer, converted to a form which is suitable for transmission over the cable, and transmitted to the second video converter which may then send the video signals to the display device. The local extender may receive the one or more peripheral signals from the host computer system over an internal computer bus, such as a PCI bus, convert the signals to a non-USB compliant protocol, such as Universal Serial Bus Extension (USBX) packets, and transmit the USBX packets to the remote extender over the cable. The video data may include RGB signals as well as HSync and VSync video synchronization signals.

Multi-storied garage intelligent carrier

The invention relates to an intelligent carrier for a mechanical parking system, comprising two vehicle bodies connected through a set of connecting rods, wherein, at least one vehicle body is provided with a traveling mechanism and a positioning device; the two vehicle bodies respectively comprise two rushing board mechanisms; each rushing board mechanism comprises a rushing board body, clamping bars on two ends of the rushing board body, a combined guide rail which is arranged on the two ends of the rushing board body and fixed on the vehicle body, and a power unit which controls the movement of the rushing board body; the combined guide rail comprises a first guide unit and a second guide unit; the rushing board body is moved under the action of the power unit and further drives the clamping bars to make linear motion along the first guide unit or rotary motion along the second guide unit. All motions are completed through the driving of a motor, which solves the problem of structural reliability of the prior carrier; the rushing board mechanisms for clamping tyres are driven by the motor, adopt a leadscrew-nut transmission mechanism, a synchronous belt driving mechanism, a chain transmission mechanism or a wire cable transmission mechanism for transmission, and are guided by the guide rail, thereby having high reliability.

Multi level cable bus system with modular cable trays

ActiveUS20120111598A1Minimizing phase impedanceMinimize of excessive heatingPipe supportsElectrical apparatusCable transmissionPower cable
A cable bus system for the mounting and positioning of high amperature, from low to high voltage electrical power cables transmitting polyphase electrical current. The cable bus system included a ventilated enclosure used to protect electrical cables mounted therein. The enclosure is provided with multiple modular cable trays which are bolted together in a stacked arrangement to form a single multi-level cable raceway. The enclosure is further provide with ventilated top and bottom covers which are secured respectively to the top and bottom of the uppermost and bottommost calve trays to define the enclosed metal circuit. The cable bus system is capable of transmitting the same highest allowable “free air” cable amperature in both above and underground installations, effectively improving the transmission of electrical power from one end to the other end in installations where a transition of electrical power from on the ground is either necessary or economically preferable. For the underground portion, the cable bus is installed in the encasement that is uniquely offset vented or power cooled to meet the cable high amperage requirements. This cable bus system is also suitable for high vertical rise installations when utilizing anti cable slip mechanism or technique.

Extensible-connection six-freedom-degree force feedback mechanical arm

The invention discloses an extensible-connection six-freedom-degree force feedback mechanical arm. The extensible-connection six-freedom-degree force feedback mechanical arm comprises a base mechanism, a parallel four-bar mechanism arranged on the base mechanism and an end executor mechanism connected to the tail end of the parallel four-bar mechanism. The extensible-connection six-freedom-degree force feedback mechanical arm can be used for capturing the movement of a wrist and can be connected with tools such as a force feedback data glove and a wrench in an extended mode. According to the extensible-connection six-freedom-degree force feedback mechanical arm, three freedom degrees used for determining the spatial positions of extension connecting positions have force sense feedback, force feedback is achieved in the mode that a direct-current servo motor is matched with a cable transmission speed reduction mechanism, and three freedom degrees used for determining the spatial postures of the extension connecting positions are detected through three high-accuracy photoelectric encoders; meanwhile, a good hardware platform is provided for obtaining the spatial positions and the spatial postures of extension devices and tools such as the data glove, the wrench and a screwdriver in virtual operation and obtaining the feedback force at the extension connecting positions, and the extensible-connection six-freedom-degree force feedback mechanical arm is compact in structure, large in movement space, high in rigidity, accurate in positioning and wide in application range.
