A replicate can be secured to a blister package intended to contain articles, such as pills, and is used to record the removal of individual articles from the blisters. To remove an article from a blister one will usually press against the blister to push the article through a frangible closure seal, breaking the seal in the process. The replicate includes a backing sheet which carries a plurality of traces alignable with corresponding blisters so that when the article is removed from the blister it will not only break the seal but it will also break the corresponding trace. All of the traces are connected to an integrated circuit which may also be formed or provided on the backing sheet, as is a power source for the integrated circuit. The breaking of the trace is an event that is recorded in the integrated circuit for later accessability. The replicate may be secured to the blister package after the package has been produced by conventional form-fill-seal equipment. The individual traces can be formed into a grid of closely spaced traces so that alignment of the traces with the individual blisters is less critical. The replicates may be formed by printing or other conventional methods on a roll of lidstock. After forming the individual replicates are severed from the roll of lidstock for securement to a blister package.

The present invention is directed to a cushioning device. The present cushioning device has many attributes that are common with many cushions. Some of these common attributes are at least one bladder having a top surface, a bottom surface and at least one side surface positioned between the top and the bottom surfaces. Another common attribute is a bladder cavity being defined by the top surface, the bottom surface and the at least one side surface. The present invention differs from other bladders in that there is a first conductive material and a second conductive material are positioned within the bladder cavity, positioned away from the bottom surface of the bladder, and capable of acting like a switch for a reactive device. The reactive device is electrically interconnected with the first and second conductive materials. When the first and second conductive materials contact each other the reactive device is capable of responding by sounding an alarm and / or re-inflating the bladder cavity with a fluid.

Thus, any attempt to remove or penetrate the walls of the enclosure interrupts the signal in the fiber optic cable, and the interruption of the signal is detected by the optical signal detection device. In response to the detection of the interruption of the signal in the fiber optic cable, a process can be initiated to erase, destroy or alter sensitive data contained within the electronic equipment or components. Also, a power source for the protective system is disclosed, which can be self-sustaining and contained within the protected enclosure for the sensitive electronic equipment or components.

Tamper sensing method and apparatus

A tamper sensing circuit is provided for an electrical device wherein an enclosure may be opened to access data by a user that does not possess the ability to achieve normal access by satisfying data security measures such as use of a password. A screw used to secure enclosure halves together is connected by a conductive coating at the enclosure member surface into which the screw is threaded to connect a tamper sensing circuit to the device ground potential. A tamper sensing circuit output node is maintained at the circuit ground potential as long as the screw is in electrical contact with the enclosure conductive coating. When the screw is disengaged from the enclosure member threaded opening, the output node is no longer grounded and rises to a supplied electrical potential indicating tampering and enabling appropriate corrective action. The conductive coating on the enclosure member which connects the screw to circuit ground may be applied or may already be present to suppress electromagnetic interference.

In a liquid crystal display device having a front window, light from a backlight is prevented from leaking through chamfered edges of the front window. An upper polarizing plate is formed on an opposing substrate and a light shielding material is formed abutting on an outer edge of the upper polarizing plate. Edges of the upper polarizing plate are located inward of edges of the front window. The upper polarizing plate and the front window are bonded with a boding material including an ultraviolet curable resin. The ultraviolet curable resin also lies over the light shielding material. Chamfers are formed in the front window and the ultraviolet curable resin does not adhere to the chamfers of the front window. By this structure, light from the backlight is prevented from entering the internal part of the front window through the chamfers of the front window and light leakage is prevented.
