This invention relates to the field of oilfield
chemical technology, specifically to a salt-resistant thickener for fracturing and its preparation process, comprising the following raw materials: multifunctional salt-resistant modified
guar gum, organoboron crosslinking agent,
potassium chloride,
alkyl glycoside,
sodium carbonate,
methylisothiazolinone, and deionized water. In this invention, the multifunctional salt-resistant modified
guar gum forms hydroxyl active sites through
alkaline activation, introduces
sulfonic acid groups, and grafts cationic monomers onto the
guar gum backbone. The
sulfonic acid groups enhance the hydration capacity and resistance to
electrolyte interference of the molecular chain, maintaining the extension of the molecular chain. The introduction of appropriate cationic groups can improve the conformation of the molecular chain to a certain extent, avoiding increased charge
shielding effect that leads to molecular chain contraction. This allows the
fracturing fluid to maintain superior
solubility and stable
viscosity in high-salt, high-
hardness formation water environments, enhancing its
salt resistance and
hard water resistance.
