A system, method, and various software products provide for consistent identification of web users across multiple web sites, servers and domains, monitoring and capture of data describing the users' web activities, categorization of the web activity data, aggregation of the data into time dependent models describing interest of users and groups over time. Categorization is made with respect to a category tree which may be standardized or customized for each web site. User groups may be defined based on membership rules for category interest information and demographics. Individual user profiles are then created for users automatically based on satisfaction of the user group membership rules. As new data is collected on a user over time, the category interest information extracted from the user's web activity is updated to form a current model of the user's interests relative to the various categories. This information is also used to automatically update group membership and user profile information. Identification of users across multiple sites is provided by a global service that recognizes each user and provides a globally unique identifier to a requesting web server, which can use the identifier to accumulate activity data for the user. Client side user identification is provided to track user activity data on web servers that do not communicate with the global service and do not process activity for category information. User profiles may be shared among web sites that form alliances. User activity data may be aggregated along various dimensions including users/user groups, categorization, and time to provide robust models of interest at any desired time scale.

A personal Web view is created that includes a plurality of Web clippings. Each Web clipping contains information from a user-selected Web page, which can be essentially any Web page that is accessible on any Web server. In creating the page, the user loads a personalization applet into his browser and retrieves each Web page of interest. The applet then generates an access script for automatically accessing that Web page and the user specifies the attributes of the Web clipping derived from that Web page. A specification of the Web view is then stored in a file. When the Web view specification is later replayed, the Web page for each Web clipping is retrieved and the specified information is extracted. The plural Web clippings are then displayed in a browser in accordance with the specified layout.

A method and system for collecting and analyzing data found across multiple sites on the internet or stored in a self-contained or pre-loaded database, is disclosed which captures, extracts, analyzes, categorizes, synthesizes, summarizes and displays, in a customizable format, both the substance and sentiment embodied within user-generated content, such as comments or reviews, found across such sites and/or stored within such databases.

Devices and methods for improved soft tissue securement are disclosed, and, in particular, to tissue anchoring elements and deployment thereof. A user of the architecture can organize his or her information into one or more profiles which reflect the nature of different relationships between the user and other entities, and grant or deny each entity access to a given profile. A global server load-balancing (GSLB) switch serves as a proxy to an authoritative DNS and communicates with numerous site switches that are coupled to host servers serving specific applications. A method is disclosed for enhanced vaccination and genetic vaccination of mammals. The vaccination is accomplished by delivering molecules such as proteins and nucleic acids into skeletal muscle and other cells residing in the skeletal muscle in vivo. The protein or nucleic acid is first injected into the muscle at one or multiple sites. Immediately or shortly after injection, electrodes are placed flanking the injection site and a specific amount of electrical current is passed through the muscle. An implantable multi-chamber cardiac stimulation device includes flexibly programmable electrode stimulation configurations, and is capable of precisely controlling the stimulation sequence between multiple sites. The stimulation device provides a plurality of connection ports that allow independent connection of each electrical lead associated with a particular stimulation site in the heart. Each connection port further provides a unique terminal for making electrical contact with only one electrode such that no two electrodes are required to be electrically coupled. Method and system for consolidating cash letters. Embodiments of the invention provide methods and systems for consolidating cash letter data from a plurality of capture devices and sources. In example embodiments, data from multiple sites and sources can be assembled into a single, endpoint file for a specific clearing institution. The reformatting and distributing of this data can be accomplished using endpoint specific rules and specifications. In some embodiments, a transaction exchange (TRX) stores cash letter data according to a file key and applies the endpoint specific distribution controls to the data to create the specific endpoint files. The transaction exchange can take the form of a data warehouse with processing and storage capabilities necessary to sweep the appropriate cash letter data into an endpoint file as needed. An image archive can be provided to enable appending images to endpoint files.

The administrative work needed to configure a virtual cluster is a major obstacle that limits its adoption by customers. Moreover, an organization can spend much time and effort testing a cluster configuration and would like to deploy this cluster configuration at many sites. To address these problems, the disclosed embodiments provide a mechanism that facilitates migrating a virtual cluster from a first computer system to a second computer system. During operation, the system captures the virtual cluster configuration state, including application configuration state and executables. The system then instantiates this captured state on a second computer system, thus re-creating the virtual cluster state of the first computer system on the second computer system.

A general-purpose, low-cost system provides comprehensive physiological data collection, with extensive data object oriented programmability and configurability for a variety of medical as well as other analog data collection applications.
