Siccolla Identity Verification Architecture and Tool

Siccolla is an identity verification architecture utilizing wireless phones as an identity verification tool. The wireless phone has a specialized built-in fingerprint sensor, camera, and blood sensor to acquire high quality images of biometrics, including but not limited to the iris, face and fingerprints, as well as DNA sampling, to perform identity verification via biometric recognition to secure credit card/debit card/financial instruments and general multi-purpose local and/or remote identity verification transactions at the Point-of-Sale terminals (POS), online for E-Commerce, and at any general purpose point of transaction at which a positive identity verification in real time must occur to prevent identity theft and financial fraud and enable commerce, E-Commerce, or general access or business to proceed and prosper. In doing so the system also feeds the biometrics obtained of all those individuals fraudulently attempting to utilize someone else's identity into a database, creating a watch list of fraudsters against which institutions can verify any and all of the identity of any and all individuals that they come across in the line of their business, to protect themselves from financial losses, fraud, and/or physical events or actions which may cause harm to themselves, their physical and logical facilities, as well as all their customers, employees, and/or innocent bystanders.

Backlight and liquid crystal display device

An objective is to obtain a backlight in which a decrease in brightness at a peripheral portion associated with the change of viewing distance is reduced. The backlight is comprised with an optical member 107 for transforming beams projected from light sources 117A and 117B into beams having a narrow-angle light distribution in which rays having intensity of no less than a predetermined value are localized within a predetermined angle range centered in the normal direction of a display surface 106b of a liquid crystal display panel 106, and for projecting the transformed beams in the direction of the liquid crystal display panel 106; and a light distribution control member 83 for receiving the beams that are projected from the optical member 107 and that have the narrow-angle light distribution, and for projecting the received beams in the direction of the liquid crystal display panel 106, wherein a plurality of concaves 109 are provided at the light distribution control member 83 for transforming a beam, from among the beams having the narrow-angle light distribution, that enters a peripheral portion of the liquid crystal display panel 106 so that the narrow-angle light distribution of the entered beam is broadened compared to that of a beam that enters a central portion of the liquid crystal display panel 106; and curvature radiuses of the plurality of concaves are formed so that a curvature radius of a concave located at a peripheral portion of the light distribution control member 83 is smaller than a curvature radius of a concave located at a central portion of the light distribution control member 83.

Silicone microparticles comprising silicone elastomer spherical microparticles coated with polyorganosilsesquioxane, and method of producing same

Provided are silicone microparticles including 100 parts by mass of silicone elastomer spherical microparticles having a volume average particle diameter within a range from 0.1 to 100 μm, and 0.5 to 25 parts by mass of a polyorganosilsesquioxane that coats the surface of the silicone elastomer spherical microparticles, in which the silicone elastomer is capable of absorbing not less than 30 parts by mass of at least one oily substance selected from the group consisting of sebum, hydrocarbon oils and ester oils per 100 parts by mass of the silicone elastomer. These silicone microparticles are capable of absorbing a large amount of the above oily substances, are able to ameliorate various problems caused by sebum such as changes in cosmetic make-up properties, changes in the color of cosmetic materials and increased shininess of cosmetic materials, and are also able to suppress the greasiness, stickiness, and oily film feeling of cosmetic materials containing at least one of liquid oils composed of hydrocarbon oils and ester oils. The silicone microparticles can be produced by hydrolyzing and condensing an organotrialkoxysilane in a water medium, in the presence of the above silicone elastomer spherical microparticles and an alkaline material, thereby coating the surface of the silicone elastomer spherical microparticles with a polyorganosilsesquioxane.
