The invention relates to a GPS based mechanical lock, and vehicle compartment specified location unlocking system and method. The method comprises that electronic fences for various service spots are drafted in advance in a vehicle mounted monitoring platform. When the mechanical lock receives an activation instruction, the geographic position information of a vehicle with the mechanical lock is in real time monitored and reported to the vehicle mounted monitoring platform. When the vehicle mounted monitoring platform receives the geographic position information of the vehicle, it determines in real time whether the mechanical lock is in the unlocking range or not on the basis of the pre-drafted electronic fences. If the mechanical lock is in the unlocking range, the vehicle mounted monitoring platform sends to the mechanical lock an unlocking instruction. When the mechanical lock receives the unlocking instruction, it unlatches the safe lock bolt. When the safe lock bolt is unlatched, the vehicle compartment door can be opened through the vehicle door key. The GPS based vehicle compartment specified location unlocking method is able to provide safe and effective monitoring to a vehicle compartment of mobile treasury so as to ensure the safety during financial escorting and transporting while not hampering the normal running of escorting business.

The invention relates to a navigation system, which comprises a navigation device.
