The invention relates to an unmanned-aerial-vehicle-based modularized power 
monitoring system and a control method thereof. The 
system comprises more than one unmanned aerial vehicle, a monitoring unit and a ground operation checking control center. The monitoring unit consists of an 
airplane parking area erected on a grid 
tower, a control module arranged on the 
airplane parking area, an 
image acquisition module, an environment monitoring module and a 
wireless communication module, wherein the 
image acquisition module, the environment monitoring module and the 
wireless communication module are connected with the control module electrically. A plurality of wedge-shaped grooves are formed in the 
airplane parking area; the control module, the 
image acquisition module, the environment monitoring module and the 
wireless communication module are arranged in the corresponding wedge-shaped grooves respectively. The monitoring unit, the unmanned aerial vehicles, and the ground operation checking control center carry out mutual data communication by the wireless communication module. According to the invention, the 
system and method have the following beneficial effects: with combination of unmanned-aerial-vehicle 
polling and the airplane parking area arranged at the grid 
tower, the modules are embedded into the airplane parking area to monitor 
power transmission in real time; and the operating states of the 
power cable and the 
tower on the 
power transmission line as well as the surrounding situation of the tower can be obtained without any manual field operation.
