System and method for transmission-line termination by signal cancellation, and applications thereof

An active terminating device (30) for an electrical transmission line with optional line-receiving and line-driving capabilities. The basic device is a two-terminal unit, denoted as a Signal Canceling Unit (SCU), which sensesthe signal available at its terminals (34a, 34b), and applies negative feedback in order to cancel and absorb the signal. When applied to the end of a transmission line (15a, 15b) as part of wired communication network, the SCU functions as a terminator. When connected in the middle of such wired transmission line, the SCU splits the transmission line into two separate and isolated segments. In such a configuration, the SCU can be used to isolate a portion of a network from signal degradation due to noise or bridge-tap. Furthermore, the two isolated segments may each employ independent communications, such that no interference exists between the segments. In another embodiment, line receiver functionality is integrated into the SCU, designated as a Signal Canceling and Receiving Unit (SCRU) (90). The SCRU can perform all the SCU functions, and also serves as a line receiver in the communication network. In yet another embodiment, line driver functionality is integrated into the SCRU, designated as a Signal Canceling, Receiving and Transmitting Unit (SCRTU) (120). The SCRTU can perform all the SCRU functions, and also serves as a line driver in the communication network. Upon connecting multiple SCRTU's to a continuous transmission line, terminated independent point-to-point communication segments are formed.

A wireless resonant powering device (1) according to the invention comprises a first inductor winding (3), which is arranged to form a transformer (9) with the inductor winding (13) of the energizable load (11). The first inductor winding (3) is arranged to form a resonant circuit (5), which may comprise a suitable plurality of electric capacitances and coils. The components of the resonant circuit (5) are selected such that the magnetic energy received by the inductor winding (13) damps the energy flow in the resonant circuit so that the induced voltage in the inductor winding (13) is substantially constant and is independent of the magnetic coupling between the first inductor winding (3) and the inductor winding 13 at the operating frequency of the driving means (6). The resonant circuit is driven by the driving means (6), comprising a control unit (6c) arranged to induce an alternating voltage between a first semiconductor switch (6a) and a second semiconductor switch (6b). At the output of the transformer (9) an alternating voltage is generated, which is rectified to a DC-voltage by a diode rectifier, filtered by an output capacitance. The resonant circuit (5) is operable on its coupling independent point by the driving means (6). This figure schematically illustrates a situation, where a variable coupling between the first inductor winding (3) and the inductor winding (13) exists. A method for initializing a computing system comprising a plurality of devices which communicate on a communication link comprising a plurality of independent point-to-point links is provided, each of the point-to-point links interconnecting a respective pair of the plurality of devices. The method includes a link initialization procedure comprising initially configuring each respective pair of devices to communicate on the respective interconnecting link using common communication parameters, including a common frequency and a common link width. The link initialization procedure also may include an optimization procedure for determining maximum communication parameters for each interconnected pair of devices. If the maximum compatible parameters differ from the common parameters for any pair of devices, then the pair of devices may be reconfigured to communicate on the interconnecting link using the maximum compatible parameters. Once a communication capability has been established, the establishment of one or more communication fabrics for the computer system may be performed. This scheme includes designating a bootstrap processor, locating the boot ROM, establishing the manner in which the devices are interconnected, and defining routing directions for routing communications among the various devices in the computing system.

At present, most transform domain watermarking algorithms specific to linear vector space data and planer vector space data are characterized in that a watermark is embedded with a geometric object as a unit, but geometric objects of point spatial data are all independent points, and the situation that the transform domain watermarking algorithms are directly applied to the vector point spatial data watermarking can be difficultly achieved. If the whole of the point spatial data serves as a geometric object and a watermark is embedded in the geometric object, extraction of the watermark can be influenced by adding and deleting spatial points. The vector point spatial data full-blind watermarking method based on grid dividing achieves the watermark embedding and watermark extraction aims of the vector point spatial data under transform domains. The vector point spatial data full-blind watermarking method is advanced and scientific, the watermark is high in robustness and good in nonvisibility, and meanwhile the data accuracy after the watermark information is embedded can be guaranteed. An experiment shows that the vector point spatial data full-blind watermarking method has good robustness on attacks such as adding and deleting point operations, cutting, data object sequence scrambling and geometric transformation operations of the vector point spatial data, and has the good use value.
