Method for the routing of communications to a voice over internet protocol terminal in a mobile communication system

The invention relates to a method a method for routing calls and messages in a communication system. In the method a mobile station registers to a call control node using a logical name. The logical name is mapped in a directory to an international mobile subscriber identity. The call control node performs a location update to a home location register using the international mobile subscriber identity. The mobile station is reached using a called party number. As a terminating call or message is received to a core network, a roaming number is allocated for the mobile station, and the call or message is routed to the call control entity currently serving the mobile station. The call control node translates the called party number to the logical name using the directory.

This is directed to a troffer-style light fixture using a LED light to cross-light internal surfaces of the troffer. In particular, this is directed to a troffer-style fixture having several receptacles for receiving LED modules. The modules can be inserted in the fixture such that some light emitted by the LED modules is directed towards an opposite surface of the fixture, causing light from opposite LED modules to mix as light is emitted from the fixture (e.g., cross lighting the fixture environment. The resulting light transmitted and reflected by the troffer can have softer qualities than direct light emitted by a LED module, and enhance the aesthetic appeal of light provided by the fixture. In some embodiments, one or more optical treatments can be applied to internal surfaces of the fixture to enhance the light output by the fixture.

Enhanced lubrication system for drive axle assemblies

ActiveUS20060063633A1Reduce churning lossLowering dynamic lubricant levelGearboxesDrip or splash lubricationTransaxleLubrication
An improved lubrication system for drive axle assemblies is provided that uses a collector in connection with a filter plug to lower the dynamic lubricant level in the drive axle assembly and filter contaminants in the lubricant sump. The collector is affixed to a cover plate attached to the drive axle housing and defines a well and a flow passage proximate the bottom of the well. The flow passage is aligned with an opening through which lubricant is inserted into the housing. A plug with a filter is inserted through the opening in the cover plate and into the flow passage. The invention reduces churning losses by lowering the dynamic lubricant level in the axle assembly without having a negative impact on lubricant life.

Sealing arrangement for an axial turbine wheel

In an axial turbine wheel including a rotor disk and a plurality of turbine blades each having a base end retained by the rotor disk via a joint and extending radially from the rotor disk, a seal plate is received in outer and annular slots formed in the base ends of the turbine blades and rotor disk, respectively, and an annular shoulder is formed in the wall defining the inner annular slot on a side remote from the rotor disk, the annular shoulder thereby defining an inner narrow section and an outer wide section in the inner annular slot. Thus, the seal plate can be easily placed in position by first fitting the inner peripheral edge thereof in the inner narrow section of the inner annular slot, fitting the outer peripheral edge thereof in the outer annular slot until the inner peripheral edge clears the annular shoulder. Thereby, the outer and inner peripheral edges of the seal plate are received in the outer annular slot and outer wide section of the inner annular slot. The outer peripheral edge of the seal plate may abut the bottom of the outer annular slot so as to allow the seal plate to be firmly retained even when subjected to a large centrifugal force.

Techniques for managing configuration for a system of devices arranged in a network

A database system that incorporates numerous features that reduce the total cost of maintaining the database system is provided. That database system includes a database appliance that executes a database server on a platform that includes a special purpose operating system specifically tailored to the services required by the database server. The database appliance configures itself by detecting the environment in which it resides and setting operational parameters based on the detected environment. The configuration metadata of all components of the system are stored in a centralized repository which itself may reside external to the system. Both the database server configuration and the operating system configuration are managed by a remotely located integrated management console, which interacts with and configures the system at the database system level, the operating system level and, optionally, at the hardware subsystem level. Backup management may also be performed remotely. The remote components, such as the integrated management console, the backup server, and the configuration repository, may communicate with the system through a wide area network, such as the Internet, or directly through a dial-up connection.

System, method and apparatus for control surface with dynamic compensation

An aircraft flight control surface has an actuator that employs a magneto-rheological (MR) fluid for dynamically adjusting the responsiveness of the control surface. The MR fluid may be used as a primary or secondary control in the event that a primary control actuator fails. In the event of system failures associated with the primary control, an alternate level of performance may be provided by the secondary control and communicated to the overall flight control system. This permits the control surface actuator to reactively and proactively respond to changes associated with the flight control system. If the design fails, it also permits a safe mode of operation should the ability to dynamically adjust the viscosity of the MR fluid be negatively impacted. The safe mode of operation may involve a reduced level of performance.

Spring element

A spring element with a hydropneumatic strut are positioned between the bogie and the body of a rail car, with the strut having a sliding piston in a cylinder, whereby the piston or the cylinder can be connected with the bogie and the other component can be connected with the body, and the piston area of the cylinder is connected with a hydraulic accumulator. A strut that is easy to service and maintain and does not accumulate any appreciable amount of dirt is created by virtue of the fact that the hydropneumatic strut has a hydraulic height regulator valve or a height sensor connected or connectable with a feedback loop, whereby the position of the piston in the cylinder can be adjusted or determined.

Fast set material proportioner

The proportioner (10) has a variable speed controlled DC motor (12) having a gearbox (14) and crankshaft (16) at either end which are connected to reciprocating piston pumps (18). The outputs (18a) of the two pumps (18) are fed to a manifold (22) where the pressure of each output is measured. The user sets a setpoint pressure (e.g. 1000 psi) and the controller (26) then compares the pressures of the two components and controls the higher of the two relative to the setpoint. Ratio assurance is monitored by continuing to look at both output pressures. If one side falls below a predetermined percentage of the setpoint (50% in the preferred embodiment), an alarm may be raised or operation stopped.

Fluid sterilization system

A fluid filtration system is shown. The fluid filtration system utilizes a one-piece or multiple piece containers having a plurality of radiation-transmissible media adapted to receive light, such as ultraviolet light, white light or other wavelength light. The radiation-transmissible media are situated in the container and at least one or a plurality of radiation sources, such as ultraviolet lamps, are situated in an array in proximity to the radiation-transmissible media. The radiation-transmissible media interrupts the flow and velocity of the fluid stream passing through the container to extend the duration of radiation for any contaminants and also provide enlarged surface areas for the contaminants to be received and ultimately exposed to the radiation. In one example, the radiation-transmissible media may be tubular or spherical sections that are hollow or solid and made of quartz.

Bottom bracket for bicycles

A bottom bracket assembly for bicycle frames aligns crankshaft bearings. The assembly is press fitted into the bottom bracket shell to journal the crankshaft. An elongated, rigid, unibody sleeve comprises a terminal end and a spaced apart leading end which both receive and support a radial contact bearing that is press fitted into a machined bore. Each bore comprises an interference fit zone for bearing retention and a larger, pressure relief zone comprising a channel and an adjacent, buffering slope that compensates for stresses. Dust shields coaxially abut the bearing exteriors. An inner, tubular buttress bushing coaxially occupies the sleeve interior and extends between the spaced apart bearings to brace them. Externally the sleeve has a pair of integral, friction retention contact interfaces separated by a reduced diameter optimization zone. The sleeve terminal end has an integral stop flange that abuts the frame bottom bracket shell contacting the crank arm.
