Network-linked interactive three-dimensional composition and display of saleable objects in situ in viewer-selected scenes for purposes of promotion and procurement

A design professional such as an interior designer running a browser program at a client computer (i) optionally causes a digital image of a room, or a room model, or room images to be transmitted across the world wide web to a graphics server computer, and (ii) interactively selects furnishings from this server computer, so as to (iii) receive and display to his or her client a high-fidelity high-quality virtual-reality perspective-view image of furnishings displayed in, most commonly, an actual room of a client's home. Opticians may, for example, (i) upload one or more images of a client's head, and (ii) select eyeglass frames and components, to (iii) display to a prospective customer eyeglasses upon the customer's own head. The realistic images, optionally provided to bona fide design professionals for free, promote the sale to the client of goods which are normally obtained through the graphics service provider, profiting both the service provider and the design professional. Models of existing objects are built as necessary from object views. Full custom objects, including furniture and eyeglasses not yet built, are readily presented in realistic virtual image.
Also, a method of interactive advertising permits a prospective customer of a product, such as a vehicle, to view a virtual image of the selected product located within a customer-selected virtual scene, such as the prospective customer's own home driveway. Imaging for all purposes is supported by comprehensive and complete 2D to 3D image translation with precise object placement, scaling, angular rotation, coloration, shading and lighting so as to deliver flattering perspective images that, by selective lighting, arguably look better than actual photographs of real world objects within the real world.

System and method for integrating and validating genotypic, phenotypic and medical information into a database according to a standardized ontology

The system described herein enables clinicians and researchers to use aggregated genetic and phenotypic data from clinical trials and medical records to make the safest, most effective treatment decisions for each patient. This involves (i) the creation of a standardized ontology for genetic, phenotypic, clinical, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and other data sets, (ii) the creation of a translation engine to integrate heterogeneous data sets into a database using the standardized ontology, and (iii) the development of statistical methods to perform data validation and outcome prediction with the integrated data. The system is designed to interface with patient electronic medical records (EMRs) in hospitals and laboratories to extract a particular patient's relevant data. The system may also be used in the context of generating phenotypic predictions and enhanced medical laboratory reports for treating clinicians. The system may also be used in the context of leveraging the huge amount of data created in medical and pharmaceutical clinical trials. The ontology and validation rules are designed to be flexible so as to accommodate a disparate set of clients. The system is also designed to be flexible so that it can change to accommodate scientific progress and remain optimally configured.

System and method for managing a plurality of advertising networks

According to one aspect of the present invention a method and apparatus are described for improving advertising conversions on the Internet. An analysis engine is provided that analyzes raw advertising metrics in order to identify improvements. A treemap based visualization engine allows the user to visualize a tree in two dimensional space. In one embodiment, an action engine includes rapid one-box recommendation that allows the user to take an action to improve an advertising campaign. According to another aspect, a system and method for managing a plurality of advertising networks is also provided. A typical embodiment of the management system integrates the analysis engine, visualization engine, and action engine in order to optimize a user/manager's time and effort in organizing, improving, and managing advertising campaigns across a plurality of advertising networks. The presentation and organization (rendered by the visualization engine) of visual displays of advertising information (compiled by analysis engine) effectively reduces the workload in managing the plurality of advertising networks, additionally, recommendations can be based on advertising information (supplied by the action engine). In one example, visual cues in the form of color designations, bring the user's attention to advertising nodes on which actions are estimated to have the significant impact. The definition of what a significant impact is may be established by default or in other embodiments can be configurable by each particular user or manager. Once the user's attention is brought to a particular advertising node, actions and alerts can be recommended to improve an individual advertising campaign, ad group, keyword, ad copy, and/or ad. In one embodiment, by providing an interface to access to other networks with their own advertising campaigns a plurality of networks can be managed.

Safe and efficient access control mechanisms for computing environments

Improved techniques for controlling access to accessible components of computing environments are disclosed. The techniques, among other things, can be used to provide Mandatory Access Control (MAC) mechanisms for mobile and embedded systems. One or more accessible components (e.g., accessible resources) which a component may attempt to access are determined so that one or more access permissions can be stored in a manner that they can be obtained if the component attempts to access the one or more accessible components, thereby allowing access to the one or more accessible components to be determined based on access permissions that are readily available. Generally, access permissions can be identified and stored in anticipation of need. Access permissions can be identified, for example, based on the likelihood of use, or all possible access permissions can be determined and stored. A safe (e.g., a trusted) access controlling (or monitoring) system (or component) can control access to resources of a computing environment. For example, a trusted access monitoring system can be provided in a secure and trusted operating environment utilizing Mandatory Access Control (MAC) capabilities of a secure operating system (e.g., SELinux Operating System).

The invention discloses a method and a system for joint resource allocation and computing unloading in a software defined vehicle-mounted edge network. The method comprises the following steps: establishing a mathematical model of a wireless communication theory according to data information, and modeling a joint resource allocation and calculation unloading problem as a mixed integer nonlinear programming problem (MINLP) according to the mathematical model; decomposing an original problem into a resource allocation sub-problem and a calculation unloading sub-problem through a Tammer decomposition method, and adopting function monotonicity definition, Lagrangian duality and KKT (Karush-Kahn-Tucker) to obtain optimal resource distribution, and obtaining an optimal unloading strategy by adopting a multi-stage low-complexity heuristic algorithm; wherein the server can allocate computing resources to the vehicle according to the scheme of the controller, and the vehicle selects the serverto unload the computing task according to the strategy of the controller. According to the invention, an optimal unloading strategy and an optimal resource allocation scheme are provided for vehicles, and the total processing delay of vehicle-mounted tasks in a system range is reduced.

Method and system for dynamically assigning channels across multiple access elements in a wireless LAN

In a fixed channel wireless network system with a limited number of channels, assignment of the fixed channels between remote client elements and access elements is made systematically according to a set of criteria according for network loading and interference, then channel assignments are dynamically updated according to a priority to maintain optimal network performance with changing conditions of load and interference. The channel utilization problem is addressed at a system level rather than at a local level by treating the system as a three dimensional color mapping problem. All noise is treated as having a source in virtual access elements with an appropriate performance metric. The performance metric is used to select a channel set that minimize chances of interference and maximize user performance. Specifically, there are several parameter matrices which are managed and updated by a central resource management element, namely signal strength between elements, interference, and load. These matrices are used to find the optimal channel assignments for a predetermined limited set of assignable channels. In one implementation, the channel assignment methodology takes into account the interference associated with access elements operating on a selected channel, as well as the interference or energy that spills over (or is otherwise observable) on physical channels adjacent to the selected channel.
