Preparation method of hydrophilic SiO2 aerogel

The invention relates to a preparation method of a hydrophilic SiO2 aerogel. The preparation method comprises the following specific steps of: evenly mixing a silicon source, an organic acid and de-ionized water together in a fixed volume ratio and stirring; then, carrying out a sol-gel process by using ammonia water with an appropriate mass concentration; aging and preparing the SiO2 aerogel with excellent hydrophilic performance by using CO2 supercritical drying technology. The obtained aerogel has a specific surface area in the range from 650 to 800 m<2>/g, a pore volume in the range from 2.5 to 3.5 cm<3>/g, a mean pore size in the range from 35 to 60 nm and a water regaining ability in the range from 6 to 8 ml/g. The preparation method has the advantages that the SiO2 aerogel with excellent hydrophilic performance is prepared by using an acidic, hydrophilic organic acid instead of ethanol as a solvent, so that the hydrophilic performance of the aerogel is improved while excellent properties of the aerogel are maintained, simultaneously, the organic acid is closely bonded with surface hydrogels of the hydrophilic SiO2 aerogel, so that chemical adsorption can be taken during adsorption to alkaline gases (like NH3), and therefore, complete combination of physical adsorption and chemical adsorption is realized and the application range of the SiO2 aerogel in gas adsorption is expanded.
