The invention relates to the field of oil exploitation, and discloses modified starch, a preparation method thereof, a microbubble drilling fluid and application. The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) preparing starch and water into a gelatinized starch solution, preparing a first monomer, a second monomer, a third monomer and water into a monomer solution, and then mixing the gelatinized starch solution, the monomer solution and a hydrophilic emulsifier to prepare a water-phase solution; (2) mixing an oleophylic emulsifier with liquid paraffin, and emulsifying to obtain an oil phase solution; adding the aqueous phase solution into the oil phase solution to prepare a water-in-oil type inverse emulsion system; (3) in the presence of an initiator, carrying out graft copolymerization reaction on the water-in-oil type inverse emulsion system to obtain a reaction product system; and (4) carrying out demulsification, cleaning and subsequent treatment on the reaction product system to obtain the modified starch. The modified starch has excellent high-temperature foam stabilizing performance, can resist the temperature of 180 DEG C, and has better salt and calcium resistance.

Coating thickening water-retaining agent and preparation method thereof

The invention discloses a coating thickening water-retaining agent, which is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 0.05 to 10 parts of an anionic emulsifier, 0.05 to 20 parts of a nonionic emulsifier, 0.5 to 200 parts of a reaction monomer, 0.1 to 40 parts of a functional monomer, 0.1 to 30 parts of a modified monomer, 0.01 to 10 parts of a buffering agent, 0.005 to 10 parts of an initiator, 0.005 to 20 parts of an oxidant and a proper amount of water. The functional monomer comprises at least one of hydroxyethyl acrylate, hydroxypropyl acrylate, hydroxyethyl methylacrylate and hydroxypropyl methacrylate. The coating thickening water-retaining agent prepared by the invention has the characteristic of small dosage, is good in thickening effect, excellent in water retention performance and excellent in shear thinning capability, and is very suitable for high-solid-content coatings; and the prepared coating thickening water-retaining agent is environmentally friendly and free of peculiar smell, residual monomers are removed through some post-treatment processes, the residual monomers are greatly reduced, and therefore the prepared product is environmentally friendly and free of peculiar smell and does not contain APEO substances.
