power cable detection, and particularly relates to a coated cable joint fault early warning device and method. The early warning device comprises two sections of cables, a cable joint for connecting the two sections of cables and a
partial discharge sensor arranged in the cable joint, and each cable sequentially comprises a conductor layer, an inner
semiconductor layer, a main insulating layer, an outer
semiconductor layer, a shielding layer and an outer sheath from inside to outside. The cable joint comprises a conductor crimping
pipe connected with the conductor
layers on the two sides, a joint insulation sleeve connected with the shielding
layers on the two sides and an explosion-proof net connected with the outer sheath on the two sides, the explosion-proof net surrounds the outer surface of the joint insulation sleeve, and the
partial discharge sensor surrounds between the outer semi-conductive layer and the shielding
layers. The
partial discharge sensor is connected with an external online monitoring mechanism.
Electromagnetic signal interference outside the connector can be shielded, partial
discharge signals inside the cable connector can be accurately captured, the detection result is accurate and reliable,
continuous monitoring of the operation state of the
power cable is achieved, and safe and reliable operation of a power line is guaranteed.
