The invention discloses a method for treating spent glue by using an acid-base solution. The method comprises the following steps of: deprivation of the stickiness of a glue stick: exposing one glue stick having a mass of m<s> and marked as No. 1 in the air, putting another glue stick into an air-blowing electrothermal constant-temperature drying box, setting a temperature to be 80 DEG C, and baking the another glue stick for 40 min to deprive the stickiness of the another glue stick, marking the another glue stick as No. 2, and, namely marking a normal glue stick without any treatment as No.3; stickiness recovery of the glue stick: treating the glue stick No. 2 with the acid-base solution, and checking the stickiness recovery effect of the glue stick; and stickiness recovery test: carrying out a peeling test and measuring stickiness retention time after the stickiness is recovered. The beneficial effects of the invention are as follows: after the glue stick No. 2 has been soaked in oxalic acid with a concentration of 5% for 30 min or has been soaked in acetic acid and in an oxalic acid with a concentration of 10% for 15 min respectively, the stickiness of glue stick No. 2 is wellrecovered, and the stickiness retention time is long; the stickiness of the glue stick is recovered in a simple and feasible manner; and the waste rate of glue sticks is lowered, which is of certainsignificance to conservation of resources and reduction of environmental pollution.
