Parallel operational processing device

In a parallel operational processing device having an operational processing unit arranged between memory blocks each having a plurality of memory cells arranged in rows and columns, the respective columns of each memory block are alternately connected to the operational processing units on the opposite sides of the memory block. By selecting one word line in one memory block, data can be transferred to two operational processing units. The number of the word lines selected per one operational processing unit is reduced, and power consumption is reduced. The bit operation units and sense amplifiers / write drivers of the operational processing units have arrangement pitch conditions mitigated and are reduced in number, and an isolation region between the memory blocks is not required and the layout area is reduced. Thus, the parallel operational processing device with a layout area and the power consumption reduced, can achieve a fast operation.

PFC-PWM controller having interleaved switching

The present invention discloses a PFC-PWM controller having interleaved switching. A PFC stage generates a PFC signal for switching a PFC boost converter of a power converter. A PWM stage generates a PWM signal for switching a DC-to-DC converter of the power converter. The PFC-PWM controller includes a power manager for generating a discharge current and a burst-signal. Under light-load conditions, the discharge current decreases in proportion to a load of the power converter. The burst signal is utilized to disable the PFC signal in a suspended condition for power saving. A pulse width of the pulse-signal ensures a dead time to spread switching signals, such as the PFC and PWM signals, and reduces switching noise. When the discharge current decreases, the pulse width of the pulse-signal will increase and a frequency of the pulse-signal will decrease correspondingly. This further reduces power consumption under light-load and zero-load conditions.

Silicon wafer, its manufacturing method, and its manufacturing apparatus

The production yield about defect free devices is improved by so controlling the size and density of void defects that they are under predetermined levels without marring the productivity. The pull-up speed V of a silicon crystal (10) by a pull-up mechanism (4) is controlled, and the rate of cooling by a cooler (30) is also controlled. As a result, the axial temperature gradient G1 at and near the melting point of the silicon crystal (10) is increased. The growth condition V / G1 is lowered to a temperature near the critical value under the condition that the growth rate V lies in the range from 97% to 75% of the limit rate Vmax and that the solid-liquid interface is convex with respect to the melt surface. Thus a silicon crystal (10) is grown by pulling up.
