The invention discloses a zigzag connection load balance transformer which comprises an iron core, a primary side winding and a secondary side winding. The primary side winding comprises three-phase windings AN, BN and CN, star connection is adopted, a neutral point N of the primary side winding is allowed to be grounded. In the secondary side winding, a phase A winding is composed of ao, fo and be, a phase B winding is composed of bo, do and cf, and a phase C winding is composed of co, eo and ad. The secondary side winding forms a triangular winding. When ao with the same winding direction as the primary side winding is a main winding, ad and do which are in zigzag antiphase connection are additional windings; when bo is a main winding, ad and eb are additional windings; and when co is a main winding, of and fc are additional windings. The zigzag connection load balance transformer has special load current transfer characteristics, current distribution of the primary side can be improved under the conditions that a secondary side loads of a power distribution network are asymmetric, a three-phase current tends to be balanced, transformer and electric transmission line loss is reduced, the capacity utilization rate of the transformer is improved, and the electric energy loss of a line is effectively reduced.
