This invention relates to a method for detecting common components of peony
bark that can be transferred to Liuwei Dihuang oral liquid. The method comprises two parts: First, using thin-layer
chromatography (TLC) to detect in parallel samples 1 (
test solution 1), peony
bark solution 1,
paeonol solution 1, and
negative sample solution 1, to obtain spots of at least two peony
bark components that can be transferred to Liuwei Dihuang oral liquid; second, using high-performance liquid
chromatography (HPLC) to detect sample solution 2, peony bark solution 2,
paeonol solution 2,
paeoniflorin solution, and
negative sample solution 2, to obtain
fingerprint chromatograms of common characteristic peaks of at least six peony bark components that can be transferred to Liuwei Dihuang oral liquid. The TLC and HPLC fingerprinting techniques of this invention have advantages such as high efficiency, accuracy, high specificity, high separation, and simple operation, providing a reliable regulatory technology for combating illegal activities related to the manufacture and sale of counterfeit and substandard Liuwei Dihuang oral liquid.
