Image processing method and apparatus, and cpu-readable recording medium

When a color image is formed on a transparent sheet with a white color material as background color material and C, M, Y, K color materials as process color materials and has colors determined by the total amount of the color materials that are applied per unit area, image formation failures such as ink drooping and ink fixation failures are prevented from occurring. Of four colors or more including white represented by a CMYKW 1-bit pixel signal, the three colors C, M, Y (gray) are replaced with the color K. After the replacement, for three or more of C, M, Y, K, no white color ink is applied since the transparent sheet is opaque without the white color ink. This control process is effective to reduce the number of applications, i.e., the total amount of inks applied, thereby preventing image formation failures such as ink drooping from occurring.

System and method for determining eligibility for multiple programs

A system and method is provided for determine eligibility by an applicant to multiple programs. Specifically, a system and method is provided that requires less effort by the applicant for applying to multiple programs. In one example, an applicant screening and application process are combined in a single interview. In another example, duplicative information required among multiple programs is collected one time, versus conventional methods that require separate data collection processes for each program. Further, after minimum set of data items is determined, an order is determined that uses data dependencies to limit the amount of data collected.

A panel fastener includes an internal spring clip held within a groove in the inside wall of the fastener cap, which engages a retainer to hold an extendable fastener at different positions on the retainer. The retainer can have contours and regions of reduced diameter that bear against the clip that establish positions of greater resistance to, or bias toward, movement of the fastener. The panel fastener makes it possible for the capped fastener to stay in different positions between its two end limit positions with reliable stability and without the need for any external sacrificial parts to meet the needs of pick-and-place automation. The fastener can be a screw or a non-threaded component.

Wood-Based Abrasive Blasting Media

A wood-based blasting material is formed for introduction into a blasting fluid by mixing high-density pellet particles of various sizes. The pellet particles are formed from sawdust or fiber pressed under high pressure, resulting in brittle pellets. The pellets may then be crumbled and screened into particles of an appropriate size. The particles do not disassociate into their constituent materials when mixed with the blasting fluid, and thus maintain their density during use in the abrasive blasting process.
