Method of manufacturing transferable elements incorporating radiation enabled lift off for allowing transfer from host substrate

Semiconductor material is formed on a host substrate of a material exhibiting optical transparency with an intervening radiation lift off layer. A transfer device, intermediate substrate or target substrate is brought into adhesive contact with the semiconductor material and the radiation lift off layer is irradiated to weaken it, allowing the semiconductor material to be transferred off the host substrate. Electronic devices may be formed in the semiconductor layer while it is attached to the host substrate or the intermediate substrate.

Computer animation of simulated characters using combinations of motion-capture data and external force modelling or other physics models

Embodiments of the present invention provide methods and apparatus wherein physics models are integrated with motion capture animation to allow for variability in animations, dynamic response, such as animating events different from those for which motion capture data was obtained, including changes in character purpose and collisions. The physical model may include sets of internal forces and / or external forces. To facilitate the integration of mo-cap animation data with physics models, mo-cap animation data is played back using forces on physical models rather than directly setting joint angles or positions in a graphical skeleton, which allows the animation to be dynamically altered in real-time in a physically realistic manner by external forces and impulses.

Method of storing, maintaining and distributing computer intelligible electronic data

The present invention provides an improved method of storing, maintaining, and distributing computer intelligible electronic data that substantially reduces the cost and complexity of traditional database management systems. The present invention provides a unstructured database capable of efficiently accessing and storing electronic data, regardless of the data's structure. Instead of slotting incoming data into a predefined rigid storage structure, the present invention analyzes the inherent structure of the incoming data. Based upon the results of this analysis, the unstructured database of the present invention generates a storage model using tokenized symbology representing the inherent structure of the data. The tokenized symbology of the present invention is utilized to provide immediate access to each data field in a given record. The present invention utilizes logical and positional pointers to allow entire records associated with any data field to be generated without the need for additional search queries.

Ground resistance monitor

A permanently mounted AC powered control / display unit and a remote sensor for use in measuring ground resistance. The sensor is permanently mounted around the earth grounding cable. The control display unit generates a 1953 Hz, 5 Vac sine wave which is sent via a cable to a 100:1 ratio drive transformer in the remote sensor. The transformer induces a 0.05 Vac sine wave in the ground cable. The resulting current is detected by a 100:1 turns ratio sense transformer. The current is returned via the cable to the control display unit and converted to a voltage, filtered, amplified and rectified by a synchronous rectifier. The rectified voltage is again filtered and presented to an analog to digital converter. A microprocessor reads the output of the analog to digital converter and the ground resistance is computed by using Ohm's Law (R=E / I), the result being shown on a display.

Tracking system for healthcare facilities

A location / tracking system for use in hospitals and similar healthcare facilities is based upon a “last seen” location for patients, clinicians, or high value equipment. The system uses portal readers to determine when and where an item to be tracked passes through a portal, bed or exam chair mounted proximity reader to determine when and how long an item is proximate to a reader in order to determine when and for how long the item is proximate to a particular task area. Real time tracking and retrospective analysis of transaction data enables locating an item to be tracked and allows higher level analysis of the transaction data to determine metrics for “time to test”, “time to treatment”, and similar statistics.

Remote dummy load

The inventive dummy load is mounted on the input power cables of a traffic signal while managing the heat load generated by either a resistive and / or capacitive load. Using the inventive dummy load, there is no thermal path back to the light emitting diode (LED) board. The inventive dummy load may be easly installed, removed, or replaced. The dummy load can be retrofit to adapt to a new controller, either by adding to or replacing the dummy load after initial installation or by removing part or all of the dummy load. There is no need to breach the sealed lamp to adjust the dummy load. Thus, field-adjustments can be made. Further, the number of parts required to manufacture lamps for a variety of retrofit applications are reduced, which in turn reduces the cost and complexity of the lamp.
