A programmable logic block provides an improved output delay by bypassing the memory array and multiplexer structure when programmed to function as a random access memory (RAM) and a new value is written to the RAM. A programmable logic block includes memory cells, a multiplexer structure, a memory element, a bypass select multiplexer, and a control circuit. The memory cells implement a RAM driven by a write data input signal and a write enable signal. Each memory cell drives an input terminal of the multiplexer structure. Under the control of the write enable signal, a bypass select multiplexer selects either the write data input signal (in RAM mode) or the output terminal of the multiplexer structure (in another mode), and passes the selected signal to a memory element. Thus, when in RAM mode, write data is simultaneously written to a specified location in the RAM and to the memory element.

The apparatus disclosed herein, in various aspects, includes a digital asset, and an amulet that comprises an encrypted self-validating string. The amulet may be external to the digital asset. A multiple punch and multiple die assembly has a workpiece protector comprising a punch lifter that is operatively associated with each punch for supporting each of the punches in an inactive position as an active punch is moved by the ram to the active, i.e. operating position to thereby eliminate scoring or marking of the sheet material or other workpiece that is being punched. To eliminate the need for hand tools and hand assembly or disassembly, a manually moveable retainer on the punch assembly is provided that can be moved by hand between a punch-releasing and punch-retaining position for holding the punches within the multi-punch assembly during operation. The invention is a multi-mode hammering machine that operates in a rigid mode, a flexible power hammer mode and a machine press mode to contour, shape and form sheet metal products. In all three modes, a ram is linearly stroked toward and away from a fixed die by a common ram drive assembly that includes a lever drive assembly and a reciprocating lever. The lever drive assembly moves in a rigid non-flexing manner. The reciprocating lever includes a rigid mode and a flexible mode. A conversion pin is used to engage one and simultaneously disengage the other. The lever drive assembly includes a control link that interfaces with a stroke adjustment mechanism. The gap adjustment mechanism is located at the fulcrum of the reciprocating lever. Both stroke length and gap are adjusted independently during the operation while the ram is cycling.

The present invention relates to the technical field of cloud computing, and in particular to a method for improving reading speed of a virtual machine temporary file. The method provided by the invention comprises: firstly, setting a virtual machine memory cache, wherein the size of the memory cache is 512 M; then calling a virtual machine AGENT, calling a RAM drive interface, and partitioning 512 M off a virtual machine memory and virtualizing the 512 M into a memory disk E; then, entering the memory disk E, and creating a folder TEMP; and finally, calling a command CMD, and pointing a system temporary file directory to E:\TEMP. The method provided by the present invention is not limited by physical machine IO, and memory resources are fully utilized; and reading speed of a virtual machine system temporary file is increased, wherein memory reading speed is 20 times faster than hard disk reading speed, so that data access speed can be fast and effectively increased by using a memory to virtualize a hard disk. The method provided by the present invention can be used in a situation in which the reading speed of the virtual machine temporary file needs to be increased.

A system and method for reducing in boot time in an electronic device (10) are disclosed. In one embodiment, a command to power off the electronic device is received. An amount of information stored in at least one of the plurality of memory banks of RAM (60) containing data is calculated. A determination is made as to whether the RAM has sufficient storage space to store compacted data and also form a RAM disk in a portion of the RAM, wherein the step of determining is based at least in part on the amount of information calculated. A RAM disk is initiated in an available memory bank of RAM. The RAM is compacted and a hibernate command is executed wherein the RAM disk is a target for storing the compacted RAM. Power is maintained to memory banks that form the RAM disk and the processor (42) of the portable communication device is set to a power collapse mode.
