A PBX system using an unmodified personal computer as the host server and using expansion slots to couple one or more switch cards to the system bus, and, optionally including a network interface card to couple the PBX system to other client computers running telephony enabled applications to control the PBX via a local area network. The switch card(s) are each coupled to a chain of one or more port expansion units that do not consume expansion slots. Each PEU contains a DSP and a microcontroller, an FPGA and port interface circuitry to interface to POTS CO lines, extension telephone lines, T1 lines or PRI lines. The personal computer is programmed with a PBX process that controls operations of the overall system and may also be programmed with conventional voice mail applications or integrated voice response and other applications to implement various telephony functions such as recording voice mail or prompt callers to input DTMF tones indicating what they want to do. Each chain of PEUs is coupled to the switch card and the PBX process by a TDMA bus and a packet switched bus. Distributed processing by the DSPs and microcontrollers in the PEUs to do tone generation, tone recognition, and a host of other functions offloads much of the work from the host. The packet switched bus enables easy handling of packetized data in IP packets or other packetized data.

Over-current protection circuit

The invention discloses an over-current protection circuit, including a switch control module, high and low level states, and software and hardware switch protection modules. An input end and an output end of the switch control module are respectively connected with a high level and a load, the software and hardware switch protection modules are connected with a control end of the switch control module, and the software switch protection module includes a constant current source module. In the over-current protection circuit provided by the invention, output turning-off of the switch control module can be controlled automatically either by the software switch protection module according to the practical running need of a device or by hardware through automatically detecting electric current flowing through a power driving tube. The two protection methods are integrated together, and protection will take effect if either condition is met at any time. The constant current source module will keep an output turning-off state if the load is short-circuited for a long time, and can return back to its normal state once external abnormalities are excluded. Therefore the device can be free of maintenance and manual intervention in operation, which reduces labor cost and greatly improves labor productivity.

Software protecting method for start short circuit of off-line inverter

The invention discloses a software protecting method for start short circuit of an off-line inverter. When the inverter is started, a PMW (Pulse-Width Modulation) duty ratio is set to be zero, PWM output is enabled, a PWM counting value is set to be zero, and a given sine wave amplitude value is set to be zero by software in an open-loop control way; in a start process, the change of the given sine wave amplitude value is controlled by the software to gradually increase the given sine wave amplitude value; the software judges whether the start process is in the last period of open-loop adjustment control or not according to the PWM counting value, when the open-loop adjustment control is at a zero-over point of the last period, the software switches the inversion output from the open-loop control way to a close-loop control way, and voltage is quickly adjusted to be stable at a rated value. By the software protecting method for start short circuit of the off-line inverter, at the start or in the start process, current can be prevented from being increased suddenly in case of short circuit, so that a power pipe is prevented from being damaged by over current, and the aim of protecting a power apparatus is fulfilled.
