The method is used for automatically installing the bluetooth serial port equipment on embedded equipment or a mobile terminal based on a Windows Mobile or Windows CE operating system. The method comprises the following steps of: (1) starting a local bluetooth function on the embedded equipment or the mobile terminal, and searching available bluetooth equipment: comparing the searched available bluetooth equipment with preset names one by one until a matched preset name is found, acquiring the address of the available bluetooth equipment, and pairing and acquiring a radio frequency communication (RFCOMM) channel number of the available bluetooth equipment; and (2) searching a serial port number available for use in a system, creating a virtual serial port for the serial port number on the basis of the address of the available bluetooth equipment and the RFCOMM channel number, returning the corresponding serial port number to upper application, and directly providing a virtual serial port which effectively operates target bluetooth serial port equipment for the upper application if indicating that the bluetooth serial port equipment is successfully installed.
