System and method for obtaining, processing and evaluating patient information for diagnosing disease and selecting treatment

A computer-based system and method is disclosed which constructs medical histories by direct interactions between the patient and system that acquires pertinent and relevant medical information covering the complete life of a given patient. The system and method insure that a complete life long medical history is acquired from every patient interacting with the health care system. Once acquired, the facts of the patient's life long and family medical history are analyzed automatically by databases to generate a set of the most reasonable diagnostic possibilities (the differential diagnosis) for each medical problem identified and for each risk factor for disease that is uncovered in the historical database. Further, the automatically analyzed database of historical medical information is used as the search tool for bringing to bear, on the diagnosis and treatment of each medical problem identified in each patient, the entirety of medical knowledge that relates to and can be useful for the correct and efficient diagnosis and treatment of each of every patient's medical problems. This collection of information is analyzed to generate a final diagnosis and treatment regimen.

Double gate and tri-gate transistor formed on a bulk substrate and method for forming the transistor

Three-dimensional transistor structures such as FinFETS and tri-gate transistors may be formed on the basis of an enhanced masking regime, thereby enabling the formation of drain and source areas, the fins and isolation structures in a self-aligned manner within a bulk semiconductor material. After defining the basic fin structures, highly efficient manufacturing techniques of planar transistor configurations may be used, thereby even further enhancing overall performance of the three-dimensional transistor configurations.

Fuel-efficient tractor-trailer system

A fuel-efficient tractor-trailer system for improving the fuel mileage of a tractor-trailer combination by improving the air resistance that occurs in the area between the rear of the tractor and the front of the semi-trailer. The fuel-efficient tractor-trailer system provides an improved roof extension, which automatically raises when the tractor is put into reverse gear and an improved wheel mechanism for assisting the side extensions to slide around the semi-trailer ends when the tractor-trailer is turning. The fuel-efficient tractor-trailer system requires only modification to the tractor and not the trailer.

Three-dimensional transistors in a bulk configuration may be formed on the basis of gate openings or gate trenches provided in a mask material. Hence, self-aligned semiconductor fins may be efficiently patterned in the underlying active region in a portion defined by the gate opening, while other gate openings may be efficiently masked, in which planar transistors are to be provided. After patterning the semiconductor fins and adjusting the effective height thereof, the further processing may be continued on the basis of process techniques that may be commonly applied to the planar transistors and the three-dimensional transistors.

Ventilation seat

A vehicle seat having a ventilation system includes a network of ducts within the seat bottom, and a fan for moving air away from the seat surface. The ventilation system is configured such that a single fan may selectively move air through some or all of the ducts. Before a vehicle occupant sits in a seat, air is moved through all of the ducts to reduce the temperature at the seat surface. When the occupant sits in the seat, certain ducts in the network are closed to air flow. The air flow is now limited to the remaining ducts, which allows for efficient removal of moisture from the seat surface. After the temperature and moisture at the seat surface have reached desired levels, the speed of the fan is reduced to ensure that the occupant does not experience an unpleasant draught.

Systems and methods for real-time endpoint application flow control with network structure component

The present solution is directed towards systems and methods to more efficiently control a flow of a data stream traversing at least one intermediary on a network between a client and a server. A sender transmits a first message, comprising a first value of a bandwidth between the first intermediary and a second intermediary determined by the sender, to a first intermediary. The first intermediary establishes a next value of the bandwidth between the first intermediary and the second intermediary. The sender receives from the first intermediary responsive to the first message a second message comprising the established next value of the bandwidth between the first intermediary and the second intermediary. A data transfer manager of the sender, responsive to the second message determines a size of a portion of data queued for transmission to transmit to the first intermediary and a time for transmitting the portion of data queued.

Intaglio printing methods and apparatuses are disclosed, involving the use of a curable resin composition (e.g., curable by actinic radiation). The composition may be applied to a substrate, such as a printable material, at a depth of 250 μm or more, in order to create a desirable, three-dimensional effect. To produce this type of printed or coated substrate, the composition is first transferred to cells or recesses, having a depth of these dimensions, onto a printing surface (e.g., a gravure cylinder) and then at least partially cured. The at least partially cured composition is then transferred to the substrate (e.g., paper or plastic) where additional curing may occur, to produce the final printed or coated article.

Presence-based hybrid peer-to-peer communications

A method and an apparatus are disclosed for improving the flow of data traffic between clients and servers by determining, in an enhanced hybrid peer-to-peer network, when a client telecommunications terminal should share its data with one or more peers, instead of transmitting that data to the servers. A “super-peer” client terminal in the hybrid peer-to-peer network is responsible for determining when to share data with peers and when to transmit data to the servers. The telecommunications terminal (i) shares data with other terminals when a particular user's presence has changed and (ii) transmits data to the enterprise servers when the overall group's presence that corresponds to the terminal's peer group has changed. The system of the illustrative embodiment aggregates presence and routes communications via peer-to-peer networking, instead of via client-to server-to peer networking, thereby reducing the load on the enterprise servers and lessening the occurrences of single points-of-failure.

Heat dissipation system

A heat dissipation system includes a heat sink, a heat pipe, and a cooling assembly. The heat sink includes a substrate and a number of fins extending therefrom. The heat sink has a receiving portion. The heat pipe includes a shell, a wick, and a working fluid contained in the shell. The heat pipe has an evaporation section and a condensation section. The evaporation section is inserted into the receiving portion of the substrate while the condensation section is equipped with the cooling assembly. A hydrophilic layer is formed on the wick so that the capillarity of the wick is enhanced. The heat dissipation system has two mechanisms by which to dissipate heat from a heat-generating component, i.e., via the heat sink and the heat pipe. Therefore, an efficiency of heat dissipation of the heat dissipation system is improved.
