Utilization of poly(ethylene terephthalate) plastic and composition-modified barium titanate powders in a matrix that allows polarization and the use of integrated-circuit technologies for the production of lightweight ultrahigh electrical energy storage units (EESU)

An electrical-energy-storage unit (EESU) has as a basis material a high-permittivity composition-modified barium titanate ceramic powder. This powder is single coated with aluminum oxide and then immersed in a matrix of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) plastic for use in screen-printing systems. The ink that is used to process the powders via screen-printing is based on a nitrocellulose resin that provide a binder burnout, sintering, and hot isostatic pressing temperatures that are allowed by the PET plastic. These lower temperatures that are in the range of 40° C. to 150° C. also allows aluminum powder to be used for the electrode material. The components of the EESU are manufactured with the use of conventional ceramic and plastic fabrication techniques which include screen printing alternating multilayers of aluminum electrodes and high-permittivity composition-modified barium titanate powder, sintering to a closed-pore porous body, followed by hot-isostatic pressing to a void-free body. The 31,351 components are configured into a multilayer array with the use of a solder-bump technique as the enabling technology so as to provide a parallel configuration of components that has the capability to store at least 52.22 kW·h of electrical energy. The total weight of an EESU with this amount of electrical energy storage is 281.56 pounds including the box, connectors, and associated hardware.

The invention discloses porous phosphorus removing ceramic granules with a function of slowly releasing an alkali and a preparation method thereof. The prepared ceramic granules are an environmental material for efficiently removing phosphorus from municipal sewage and industrial wastewater. Based on the basic chemical properties of the phosphorus in water and a phosphorus removing mechanism by chemical absorption, the preparation method of the ceramic granules comprises the following steps of: mixing 20 to 40 mass percent of ordinary portland cement (42.5 level), 10 to 20 mass percent of bentonite, 10 to 20 mass percent of fly ash, 10 to 15 mass percent of calcium oxide, 15 to 25 mass percent of nitrocellulose, 14 to 30 mass percent of xonotlite fiber particle and 0.1 to 0.5 mass percent of pore-creating agent; adding water for stirring the mixture according to a water-solid ratio of 0.35 to 0.45; granulating the mixture into granules with required grain sizes; and after the granules are foamed and solidified, curing the granules by using high-temperature steam to obtain the ceramic granules. The method has the advantages of simple preparation process, readily available raw materials, low cost and wide application prospect in the field of the removing of the phosphorus in water bodies. The prepared ceramic granules have the characteristics of capacity of slowly releasing the alkalis, silicic and calcareous textures, porosity, capacity of continuously and efficiently absorbing and removing the phosphorus and suitability for phosphorus removing systems of the municipal sewage and the industrial wastewater.

The invention discloses a method and an apparatus for creating an elementary optical disc master with but a single layer to be applied to a disc substrate to form pits having ideal shapes and without berm buildup. These ideally shaped pits are improvements in the technology of disc mastering, due to the manufacturing and data playback advantages that are inherent in the ideally shaped pits. An optically active lamina consisting of a dye polymer solution of nitrocellulose and a increased dye additive is spin coated directly to a pregrooved polycarbonate substrate to enable the recording of data on the disc by laser means in the form of pits. The pits are created by having a data modulated laser focusing on the optically active lamina which reacts to the irradiation causing a pit to be formed. The resulting pit more often than not possesses a residual raised berm area surrounding the pit, in what is considered to be a less than ideal shape for a pit. The residual berm, however, is eliminated by an additional process and step of passing the recently recorded disc under a UV illumination source before application of a final conductive layer to the disc.

Preparation method of alkyd resin

The invention relates to a preparation method of alkyd resin.
