This invention discloses the application of
sulfadimidine in the preparation of drugs for treating
osteoarthritis. This invention is the first to demonstrate the significant
efficacy of intra-articular injection of
sulfadimidine in the treatment of
osteoarthritis (OA); the results show that
sulfadimidine can not only significantly relieve the symptoms of
osteoarthritis but also improve the
metabolic function of chondrocytes, thereby slowing the progression of
arthritis. Traditional treatment methods mainly include intra-articular injection of
anesthetic drugs, joint lubricants (such as
sodium hyaluronate), glucocorticoids, and
platelet-rich
plasma (PRP). However, these methods each have limitations, such as significant short-term effects but potential long-term side effects. Sulfamidine, as a
novel treatment method, not only has good
efficacy but also fewer side effects, providing a new approach to the
drug treatment of osteoarthritis.
