A method and apparatus for installing a solar array on the roof of a residence or the like which uses a pan in the installation of the solar modules that make up the array. The pan may also be used as part of the packaging of the solar modules. The pan is comprised of a length of material having a trough-like cross-section. For packaging, shipping inserts are fitted into the trough of each pan. Opposite edges of a solar module are fitted into respective slots in the inserts of two facing pans and a protector is fitted over each end thereof to form a package for shipping. Once on site, the packages are disassembled, the pans are mounted on the roof, and the modules are connected to the pans to form the array.

Composite Materials And Method Of Its Manufacture

A novel solution route has been developed that after heat-treatment to 500-600° C. under inert atmosphere, yields highly porous composites of nano-sized metal (Ni) particle inclusions in ceramics (Al2O3). Metal loadings could be made from <1% to >95% Ni. The metal inclusion sizes in the Ni-Al2O3 system with the 10 atom % Ni sample were 4-7 nm, while for the 75 atom % Ni sample they were 5-8 nm. It was shown that the 10 atom % Ni sample could be used as a catalyst for the conversion of CO2 and CH4 in the temperature range 550-700° C., while higher temperatures led to growth of the Ni particles and carbon poisoning over time. The solution routes could also be deposited as thin dense films containing <10 nm Ni particles. Such films with high Ni-particle loadings deposited on aluminium substrates have shown very good solar heat absorber proficiency and provide good substrates for carbon tube growth.

The invention relates to a heliostat shape rapid detection system and method thereof. The heliostat shape rapid detection system comprises a laser array and an image acquisition device array. The laser array is installed on a horizontal supporting plane through an angle-adjustable mechanism. A receiving target is parallel to the horizontal plane. The image acquisition device array is installed on the receiving target through a fixing support and transmits the acquired image data to a computer. A heliostat under detection is composed of multiple sub-mirrors which form a discrete convergence curve which is the mirror shape of the heliostat under detection, and the three-dimensional attitude is described through the rolling angle and the pitching angle of the sub-mirrors. The mirror reflection light spots of the heliostat on the receiving target are directly photographed by the image acquisition device array based on the reflection law of light to calculate the three-dimensional space reflection angle of each sub-mirror so that high-precision shape detection of continuous mirrors and discrete mirrors can be realized. The energy density of the laser light spots is high and is not liable to be interfered by environmental light so that shape detection can be completed in the common indoor environment.
