The invention discloses a novel absolute type self-
synchronizing barcode displacement sensor and a measurement method thereof. The novel absolute type self-
synchronizing barcode displacement sensor comprises a ruler belt with a particular one-dimensional
barcode, and a reading box with a reading unit positioned towards the particular one-dimensional barcode. The reading box and the ruler belt move relative to each other, so that the information of an absolute position is measured through the
code reading of the absolute position information. A
code reading sensor expresses a code containing the absolute position information in the form of a particular one-dimensional barcode based on the intelligent
image processing technology and the stripe difference principle. Meanwhile, the particular one-dimensional barcode is read by the reading box, so that the displacement and the absolute position value of an object can be measured accurately. The measuring range of the sensor is almost not limited at all. The ruler belt is a flexible belt and can be installed along a straight-line track or a curve track. No
contact friction is generated during the relative movement process, and the reading gap is self-adaptive. The coding length is almost unlimited. Therefore, the sensor can be widely applied to the fields of water conservancy,
hydropower, industrial and mining enterprises, traffic and transportation, green and
environmental protection, military equipment and the like.
