The light-emitting device (1) is characterized in that the drive IC (3) has a built-in circuit for controlling the current value of each light-emitting diode (2) or the current proportions of the light-emitting diodes at constant values. The adjustment of the intensities of the light beams emitted from the light-emitting diodes can be simplified, and no outside circuits for adjustment are needed. The structure is excellent in assemblability. The LED is mounted on electrode pads formed at the first conductive pattern of the FPC, and all the side faces of the LED are covered with an individual thermal conductor enclosure which is connected to the second conductive pattern via an opening formed at the substrate of the FPC. Thus, a heat radiation system is established from the side faces of the LED through to the heat radiating plate which is affixed to the rear surface of the FPC.

By supplying alternating current to the coil, the moving object is driven reciprocally and linearly in the axial direction of the shaft.

A seal is arranged at the inboard side of the encoder via the sensor holder. The seal includes a first annular sealing plate and a second annular sealing plate. The first and second annular plates are mounted on the sensor holder and the inner ring, respectively, and opposite toward each other.
