The invention relates to a power generating system comprising a high-temperature heat storage medium storage tank, a low-temperature heat storage medium storage tank, a heat exchange device, a turbine, a generator and a steam exhausting condensation device. The heat exchange device comprises two superheaters, two evaporators in series connection and two preheaters. The high-temperature heat storage medium storage tank, the superheaters, the evaporators, the preheaters and the low-temperature heat storage medium storage tank are connected in sequence to form a passage for circulating of a heat storage medium. The steam exhausting condensation device, the preheaters, the evaporators, the superheaters and the turbine are connected in sequence to form a passage for circulating of a water working medium. After the water working medium and a high-temperature heat storage medium are subjected to heat exchange in the heat exchange device, steam is formed and allows for working of the turbine, so that the generator is driven to generate power. The steam exhausted from the turbine enters the steam exhausting condensation device to form condensed water serving as the water working medium, and the water working medium enters the heat exchange device to be subjected to heat exchange with the high-temperature heat storage medium. Compared with the prior art, the ability of failure coping of the whole power generating system is improved through the heat exchange device.
