Cooling systems for providing cooled air to electronic devices are described. The systems can include large storage tanks or waste treatment systems to improve the efficiency of the plant and reduce impact on the environment.

A system and method for cooling air includes using a refrigerant cooling system and further using a refrigerant liquefaction subsystem or method that includes using a heat sink cooler (“pre-cooler”) to cool the heat sink coolant before it is used to cool the refrigerant in the condenser. One aspect of the refrigerant liquefaction subsystem may use a water mist, which may be prepared by atomizers, high pressure nozzles, piezo-electric ultrasonic nebulizers, or the like, to cool the heat sink coolant.

A spa comprised of a fluid enclosure having a floor and an upstanding sidewall includes a plurality of therapy stations within the enclosure. Each therapy station includes a hydrotherapy assembly and each such assembly includes a plurality of fluid jets in the floor or sidewall of the enclosure and a fluid inlet through the floor or sidewall of the enclosure. Each hydrotherapy assembly also includes a fluid pump having a suction port that is in fluid communication with the inlet and a discharge port that is in fluid communication with the jets. A variable flow controller is also provided for each hydrotherapy station, which controller is adapted to control the flow of fluid from the discharge port of the pump through the jets into the enclosure.

A suction accumulator for refrigeration or air-conditioning system use, especially for automotive air conditioning system use, which comprises a “pickup tube” to withdraw liquid from a reservoir of the accumulator to return oil to the compressor. The accumulator has a deflector with an outlet tube, to help ensure that fluid does not flow directly from the inlet opening to the outlet opening of the accumulator. The relatively narrow second portion of the outlet tube is closer to the outlet opening than the first portion. The pickup tube is secured in communication with the relatively narrow second portion and optimises the oil return function, minimises restriction to refrigerant flow, maximises effective and actual reservoir volume, and minimises the amount of liquid delivered to the compressor at switch-off. Incorporating an electric heating element or a heat exchanger for engine coolant or exhaust allows the accumulator of the present invention to function as the evaporator when the refrigeration system is used in heat pump mode for heating applications.

Production of heavy oil and bitumen from a reservoir is enhanced by cyclic radio frequency (RF) radiation of the well. The invention utilizes RF radiation to introduce energy to the hydrocarbon reservoir in cycles in order to heat the reservoir directly, yet conserves energy over the prior art processes that more or less continuously apply RF or microwave energy. The advantage of cyclic RF is it uses less electricity, and thus lowers operating costs. This is achieved by the soak cycle that allows heat to conduct into the formation and assists the heat penetration that is directly radiated into the formation by the antenna. The invention can also be advantageously combined with cyclic steam stimulation.

The sample card and quality control module allow operators to conduct quality control tests in reduced time using micro-scale test samples from the radiopharmaceutical solution. The sample card works in conjunction with a microfluidic radiopharmaceutical synthesis system to collect samples of radiopharmaceutical solution on the scale of 5-20 microliters per sample. A device and system useful for highly efficient chemical and electrochemical reactions is described. The device comprises a preferably porous electrode and a plurality of suspended nanoparticles diffused within the void volume of the electrode when used within an electrolyte. The device is suitable within a system having a first and second chamber preferably positioned vertically or in other special arrangements with respect to each other, and each chamber containing an electrode and electrolyte with suspended nanoparticles therein. When reactive metal particles are diffused into the electrode structure and suspended in electrolyte by gasses, a fluidized bed is established. The reaction efficiency is increased and products can be produced at a higher rate. When an electrolysis device can be operated such that incoming reactants and outgoing products enter and exit from opposite faces of an electrode, reaction rate and efficiency are improved. Ideally, this device and system can be used to rapidly produce significant quantities of high purity hydrogen gas with minimal electricity cost.
