A flip-chip light emitting diode with high light-emitting efficiency is disclosed. The LED includes a transparent conductive layer, an oxide layer, a reflective metal layer, a conductive layer, and a protective diffusion layer sequentially disposed over a p-type semiconductor layer. Thereby, light emitting from a light-emitting layer toward the p-type semiconductor layer is reflected and penetrating a transparent substrate and emitting outwards. Thus the problem of light shielded from the flip-chip type LED is solved and the light-emitting efficiency is improved. Furthermore, the present invention disposes the LED chip in a face-down orientation on a conductive substrate by flip-chip technology so as to enhance heat-dissipation efficiency of the LED.

Methods and systems for controlling operation of a wind turbine. The method may comprise determining an alarm level for at least one component of the wind turbine. In the case that an alarm level for at least one component exceeds a predefined level, the method comprises estimating an expected remaining lifetime for the component under the current operating conditions, and controlling operation of the wind turbine in order to adjust the expected remaining lifetime for the component to a desired expected remaining lifetime for said component. Thereby, the expected remaining lifetime for the component can be prolonged until the next scheduled service event. Downtime of the wind turbine is considerably reduced, and unscheduled service events are avoided to the greatest possible extent. Mean time between inspections (MTBI) is also extended.

A diagnostic apparatus monitors a lithographic manufacturing system. First measurement data representing local deviations of some characteristic across a substrate is obtained using sensors within a lithographic apparatus, and / or a separate metrology tool. Other inspection tools perform substrate backside inspection to produce second measurement data. A high-resolution backside defect image is processed into a form in which it can be compared with lower resolution information from the first measurement data. Cross-correlation is performed to identify which of the observed defects are correlated spatially with the deviations represented in the first measurement data. A correlation map is used to identify potentially relevant clusters of defects in the more detailed original defect map. The responsible apparatus can be identified by pattern recognition as part of an automated root cause analysis. Alternatively, reticle inspection data may be used as second measurement data.

The microjet array is formed in a jet plate, which is attached directly to the substrate containing the heat generating device. Additional enhancing features are used to further improve the heat transfer coefficient above that inherently achieved by the array. Some of these enhancements may also have other functions, such as adding mechanical structure, electrical connectivity or pathways for waveguides. This technology enables higher duty cycles, higher power levels, increased component lifetime, and / or improved SWaP for RF devices operating in airborne, naval (surface and undersea), ground, and space environments. This technology serves as a replacement for existing RF device thermal management solutions, such as high-SWaP finned heat sinks and cold plates.

Wind turbine yaw system and method of controlling the same

A wind turbine yaw system is provided that includes a yaw gear, at least two pinion gears, and at least two drive units, each of which is associated to one of the pinion gears for driving that pinion gear. The yaw system also includes a control system with a controller for generating a drive unit control signal for each drive unit for controlling the respective drive unit according to a reference signal having a desired operational parameter value for the respective drive unit, so as to realize the desired operational parameter value in the respective drive unit. The control system includes a feedback loop for each drive unit feeding a drive unit feedback signal including at least the actual value of one operational parameter of the respective drive unit back to the controller. The controller generates the drive unit control signals based on the reference signal and the feedback signals.

Exhaust Gas-Discharging Device of Vehicle

An exhaust gas discharge device for vehicles is disclosed. The exhaust gas discharge device of the present invention includes an extension pipe (10), which is fitted over a tail pipe of a silencer of a vehicle. A venturi passage (20) is defined in an exhaust gas inlet end of the extension pipe to increase a flow speed of the exhaust gas. The exhaust gas discharge device further includes an outside air discharge nozzle (30), which extends into the venturi passage, a backflow inlet port (40), which is provided in an exhaust gas outlet end of the extension pipe to guide outside air, and a cover (50), which defines therein a chamber, through which the backflow inlet port communicates with the outside air discharge nozzle. Thus, the present invention restrains backflow of exhaust gas using the flow of outside air, thus preventing back pressure, and rapidly discharging the exhaust gas, thereby enhancing the output of the engine.
