The invention discloses a new energy commercial vehicle steering system which comprises a steering wheel, a column tube with an intermediate shaft assembly, a steering gear, a steering plumbing arm, a steering straight pull rod, a left steering knuckle, a right steering knuckle and a transverse pull rod arranged between the left steering knuckle and the right steering knuckle and further comprises a pair of connecting pull rods. The steering straight pull rod is connected with the steering knuckle on one side in a hinged manner, the knuckle on each side is hinged to the butt joint end of the transverse pull rod through the corresponding connecting pull rod, and an electric power assisting structure is arranged on the steering gear. The electric recirculating ball type steering system adopting the disconnected steering trapezoidal structure can provide larger assisting power compared with an electric gear rack type steering gear, can provide reliable steering assisting power for a vehicle with the front axle load of 1.6-3 tons, and does not need to adopt a high-price electric hydraulic pump, so that the cost of parts of the system is low, high energy consumption required by the electric hydraulic pump is avoided, due to the absence of steering fluid, the problems of oil leakage and oil seepage do not exist; and stability and reliability are realized.
