More specifically, the invention provides salivary protease assays indicative of amniochorion and fetal membrane concentrations of proteases involved in the degradation of the fetal membranes leading to rupture. An increase in salivary protease levels beyond normal or individual baseline provides an indication that protease levels in fetal membranes and / or the amniotic fluid are abnormally elevated. Abnormally elevated protease levels define an increased risk of a premature delivery caused by rupture of the fetal membranes. Thus, abnormally high levels of salivary protease levels indicates elevated risk of PROM, and provides an indication for therapeutic intervention to prevent PROM-induced preterm labor.

The invention provides a method for differentiating placental wall decidual mesenchymal stem cells into endometrial epithelial cells, which comprises the following steps of: adding a tissue digestivejuice into placental wall decidual tissues for digestion, filtering to remove undigested tissue blocks after the digestion is terminated, collecting cell suspension, centrifuging, removing the supernatant, cleaning the precipitate and centrifuging again to obtain mesenchymal stem cells of placenta wall fetal membrane tissues; culturing the placental wall decidual mesenchymal stem cells by using aselective culture medium of the placental wall decidual mesenchymal stem cells; passing the primary cells of the placental wall decidual mesenchymal stem cells to P3 generation; taking the P3 generation placental wall decidual mesenchymal stem cells, adding the placental wall decidual mesenchymal stem cells into a selective culture medium, and inoculating and culturing overnight; removing the selective culture medium of the placental wall decidual mesenchymal stem cells, and carrying out induction culture by using the endometrial epithelial cell differentiation culture medium to obtain the endometrial epithelial cells. The method can successfully obtain endometrial epithelial cells with cell activity.
