Authentication techniques in a monitoring system

An Electronic House Arrest Monitoring (EHAM) system of the present invention includes a transmitter attached to a monitored offender and a receiver positioned in the vicinity of the desired monitoring location. The transmitter and the receiver each have a pattern stored or generated therein for determining the interval of time between signal transmissions and receptions. The pattern is pseudo-random to offer improved protection against imposter transmitters, in other words the time intervals are selected to be unequal and randomly varying but the pattern is repeated or cycled to allow continuing signal transmission by the transmitter. The transmitter transmits signals at varying time intervals according to this pattern, and the receiver authenticates signals it receives as coming from the monitored transmitter based on the expected time intervals from the pattern. The pattern may include any number of time intervals and, in one embodiment, includes more than one subpattern to extend the length of the repeat cycle to increase the difficulty of defeating the monitoring system. As further protection against imposter devices, the receiver may verify the signals based on information unique to the transmitter included in each signal. The receiver may further use the received signals and unique time interval patterns to determine a number of operating states, including New Transmitter ID Received, Transmitter In Range and Locked to Transmitter, Transmitter In Range and Not Locked, Transmitter Out of Range, and Imposter Likely. The monitoring system may also include a remote host computer linked to the receiver or receivers to enable these operating states to be monitored remotely by enforcement personnel.

The system for protecting the electronic chip in the engine against theft comprises an anti-theft authentication module which is arranged in the portable communication equipment and used for receiving and transmitting authentication information, and an anti-theft controller which is arranged in the vehicle and connected with an engine control system; and the anti-theft controller and the anti-theft authentication module authenticate an identity by encrypted communication, and control the engine control system on the basis of results of authentication. In an improved technical scheme, if the portable communication equipment enters a preset range, a door lock is opened automatically after a signal is authenticated. An anti-robbery control steps is added in an improvement over the improved technical scheme, so that after the engine is started, the engine brakes automatically as the portable communication equipment exits the preset range.

Filtering optimal selection method for leakage sound wave signals of gas transmission line

The invention discloses a filtering optimal selection method for leakage sound wave signals of a gas transmission line. The method includes the steps that the falling edge length of the leakage sound wave signals serves as the signal length of signals with the amplitude suddenly falling to the amplitude which restores to zero; the time domain waveform of true leakage sound wave signals is fitted to obtain fitted leakage sound wave signals; noise signals are added, so that pseudo leakage sound wave signals are obtained; filtering processing is conducted on the pseudo leakage sound wave signals through various pre-selected filtering methods, and the waveform after filtering is obtained; the evaluation index of the filtered signals is calculated and obtained, the optimal filtering method is determined, and the effectiveness of the optimal filtering method is verified through the true leakage sound wave signals. According to the filtering optimal selection method for the leakage sound wave signals of the gas transmission line, the requirements of SNR evaluation index maximum, root-mean-square error evaluation index minimum and leakage falling edge amplitude loss evaluation index minimum are met, the optimal filtering method is selected, the filtering effect of the leakage sound wave signals is quantificationally evaluated, the SNR of the leakage sound wave signals is increased, and the applicability of a sound wave method leak detection technology is improved.

With the connected region labeling-based frequency hopping signal based dynamic clustering extraction method adopted, accurate extraction of the energy diagram of required frequency hopping signals can be realized when low-signal noise ratio strong interference exists, and different-time duration interference of which the period is identical with a hopping period exists, or another kind of frequency hopping signals of which the period is identical with the period of required frequency hopping signals exist.
