Stylized rendering using a multi-flash camera

A method generates a stylized image of a scene including an object. A set of n input images are acquired of the scene with a camera. Each one of the n input images is illuminated by one of a set of n light sources mounted on a body of the camera at different positions from a center of projection of a lens of the camera. Ambient lighting can be used to illuminate one image. Features in the set of n input images are detected. The features include depth edges, intensity edges, and texture edges to determine qualitative depth relationships between the depth edges, the intensity edges and the texture edges. The set of n input images are then combined in an output image to enhance the detected features according to the qualitative relationships.

Resealable beverage bottle lid

A lid for a beverage bottle includes a lid body that is fastenable onto the bottle and an actuation dial that rotates on the lid body. The actuation dial rotates a rotating spout while permitting the spout to move axially by teeth sliding in channels. As the spout is rotated, it moves on threads within the lid body to provide the axial movement. A gasket within the spout bears against a plug of the lid body when the spout has been moved to the closed position. The gasket is free of the plug to form a fluid passageway from the bottle through the lid body and the spout when the spout has been moved to the open position. The gasket includes a seal ring bearing on a fluid flow tube of the lid body to prevent leaks.

Modular up-draft pressure pulse bag house

A bag house air filtration system with minimal recirculation uses new inlet airflow patterns and cleaning processes. Inlet air enters the bag house. An input plenum changes the velocity profile. Dirty inlet air is split into two plenums, and then passed through guide vanes. A clean air plenum contains a series of individual compartments with a pre-set number of filter bags that are effectively cleaned during a single cleaning cycle. Each individual compartment has a door or louver mounted above the bag openings that is opened and closed during the cleaning cycle. An automatic control system continuously senses bag house pressure drop and activates the cycle when needed. The doors open and close in a pre-set pattern to drop the dust cakes from the bags and restore air flow to normal pressures. Closing a door mounted above the bags creates a reversal of pressure that removes the dust cake.

Mass flow grain monitor and method

A mass flow grain monitor is located adjacent the upper end of the clean grain elevator assembly of a harvester and includes a load cell having a member that is subject to slight deformation under loads for use in generating an output signal that is proportional to the load. As the grain flow reaches the top of the elevator assembly, its direction is changed such that a centrifugal force is exerted by the moving flow that is proportional to the mass of the grain flow at that instant. Such centrifugal force is directed vertically against the deformable member of the load cell which is itself generally horizontally disposed when the harvester is on level ground so that the entire weight of the deformable member can be treated as tare and zeroed out of the system when it is calibrated with the harvester on level ground. Having the member generally horizontally disposed and measuring the force of the grain vertically causes a significant reduction in the amount of error introduced into the output from the monitor when the harvester encounters upsloping or downsloping hillside conditions.

Geo-enumerative deviceholder authentication

A system, method, and software product are provided for fraud prevention in the field of payment instrument transactions without requiring registration. A computing device receives details of completed payment transactions. A number of recognition IDs are also received indicating locations of geolocation devices. A computing device then flags all received recognition IDs by deviceholder identification for a time period surrounding the completed payment transactions, and defines sets of flagged recognition IDs. The sets of flagged recognition IDs are then compared in generating candidate recognition IDs, which are associated with each payment instrument. Further iterations allow for limiting of the number of recognition IDs associated with each payment instrument. Other embodiments provide for faster matching by only considering recognition IDs from a certain geographic region or presenting time-limited offers to customers to purchase goods at specific merchants and then removing recognition IDs not associated with purchase at a merchant.

Dynamic resource allocation for transaction requests issued by initiator devices to recipient devices

Initiator devices for generating transaction requests and recipient devices for receiving them are disclosed. The recipient devices accept transaction requests where there is available buffer storage for the transaction request. If there is no storage space available an acknowledgement signal generator generates and outputs a reject acknowledgement signal indicating a request has been received but has not been accepted by the recipient device. A credit generator can reserve at least one available storage location in the buffer and generate a credit grant for an initiator device that sent one of the transaction requests that was not accepted by the recipient device. The credit grant indicates to the initiator device that there is at least one reserved storage location, such that a subsequent transaction request from the initiator device will be accepted by the recipient device. Thus, the initiator device may not transmit the transaction request again until it has received the credit grant, whereupon it may transmit it along with a credit grant indicator such that it is sure that it will be accepted.
