The present invention is an assembly comprising a prosthetic valve to be implanted; a radially expandable stent comprising at least one zone intended to be expanded to allow the stent, in the expanded state, to bear against the wall of the body duct to be fitted with the valve, this bearing making it possible to immobilize this stent with respect to this wall; and means for mounting the valve with respect to the stent, making it possible to connect the valve to the stent in such a way that the placement of the stent allows the valve to be mounted in the body duct, and expansion means such as a balloon catheter being provided to trigger expansion of the stent at the implantation site. According to the invention, the valve and the stent are designed in such a way that, at the moment when the stent is expanded, the valve is situated outside the zone or zones of the stent that are subjected to said expansion means. The invention thus consists in separating the valve and said zone or zones to be expanded, so that the expansion of the stent can be effected with an expansion force suitable for perfect anchoring of this stent in the wall of the body duct to be fitted with the valve, and without any risk of destruction or damage of the valve.

The push button is pushed forward to engage with a front end of the opening in an inoperative state. The push button is adapted to push rearward to cause the trigger to push and press down the second protrusions until the first protrusions clear internal openings of the jack such that a subsequent pulling will disengage the plug with the jack.

An apparatus for measuring tension in guy wire systems wherein the lower end of the guy wire has a thimble adjoined by a connection pin to a yoke or clevis of a turnbuckle shackle bolt connected to an earth anchor. A block assembly is removably received beneath the clevis and a thimble-engaging jaw assembly is removably received on the guy wire above the clevis. The block assembly and jaw assembly are connected at one end by a threaded rod assembly that includes a strain sensor connected with an indicator device, and by a threaded rod at their opposed end. The jaw assembly is drawn downward by adjusting nuts on the threaded rods beneath the block assembly to engage the thimble and move it downward transferring the tension to the threaded rod and threaded rod assembly which is sensed by the strain sensor and indicated by the indicator device.

An all-ground-anchor type single-tower double-span cable-stayed bridge system comprises a main beam, a stay cable, a main tower and an anchor. The main beam is composed of a side span main beam body and a main span main beam body. The length of the side span main beam body is far smaller than that of the main span main beam body, and the side span main beam body and the main span main beam body are asymmetrically distributed. The side span main beam body is supported by a support arranged on a side span buttress main tower lower beam and fixedly connected with the main span main beam body and the anchor. The stay cable comprises a main span stay cable body and a side span stay cable body. The main span stay cable body supports the main span main beam body. The upper end of the side span stay cable body is anchored to the main tower and corresponds to the main span stay cable body in position. The lower end of the side span stay cable body is anchored to the anchor. The main tower provides anchorage for the main span stay cable body and the side span stay cable body and meanwhile transmits the vertical force of the side span stay cable body to a foundation through a main tower bearing table and a main tower foundation. A lateral force resistance device for a ground achoring system suitably used in expansive soils has an inner sleeve structure and an outer collar connected to the inner sleeve structure by a plurality of load transfer members such as longitudinal load transfer plates. The lateral force resistance device is embedded in the soil over a ground anchor, such as a helical anchor, by sliding the inner sleeve structure of the device over the top end of the anchor and using an embedment method involving vibration, pushing or other technique. The outer collar of the lateral force resistance device provides a relatively large surface area displaced from the inner sleeve structure for providing efficient load transfer to the surrounding soil.

A ground anchor system for anchoring a post comprises a base plate, a housing extending above the base plate, an anchor extending below the base plate, the anchor comprising a tapered helix having a thread encircling a tube which tapers inwardly towards the lower end of the anchor, and a boring tip at the lower end of the anchor. The tapered helical thread of the anchor firmly engages with the ground into which it is threaded to provide a solid support to a post inserted in the housing. Disclosed is a method of constructing partially earth-anchored cable-stayed bridges using a thermal prestressing technique, in which, when a steel girder-type partially earth-anchored cable-stayed bridge is built using a cantilever construction technique, the center of an intermediate span of the bridge is closed with a final key segment using a thermal prestressing technique, thus applying an initial axial tensile force to reinforcing girders of the bridge. To apply the initial axial tensile force to the reinforcing girders while the center of the intermediate span is closed with the final key segment, an appropriate space length required for closure of the final key segment is determined, and both the heating region and the heating temperature of the reinforcing girders according to the initial axial tensile force to be applied to the reinforcing girders during a process of manufacturing the final key segment are determined. Thereafter, the reinforcing girders are heated using a heating means according to the above-determined conditions, thus being thermally lengthened to predetermined lengths corresponding to the predetermined space length. The junction between the reinforcing girders at the center of the intermediate span is closed with the final key segment and, thereafter, the heating means is removed from the reinforcing girders.

Wind cap for buildings

A wind cap for buildings serves to anchor a building structure securely to the underlying terrain. The wind cap is a series of base plates which are temporarily and removably placed upon the roof of a structure, with a corresponding series of tiedown straps secured over the plates and attached to ground anchors on opposite sides of the structure. Two of the base plate components may be hinged together along their common edges for placement over the ridge line of the roof. Single plates are placed along the eaves and at intermediate points of the roof span. Each plate includes at least one pair of roller support arms adjustably extending upwardly therefrom, with a roller installed between each arm pair. The rollers eliminate the drag of the tiedown strap passing thereover, thereby eliminating asymmetrical loads on the underlying plates and roof as the straps are tightened.

Ground Anchor

A ground anchor (10) comprising an anchor shaft (11) and an anchoring screw (13) moulded onto the anchoring shaft adjacent the lower end thereof. The anchoring shaft (11) is of a rectangular cross-section with four side walls (12). The anchoring shaft (11) is configured at its bottom end (15) for ground penetration. The upper end (19) of the anchor shaft (11) is configured to receive torque applied thereto. The anchoring screw (13) comprises a hub (21) and a screw flight (23) on the hub. The anchoring screw (13) is moulded onto the anchor shaft (11), and the hub (21) is keyed to the anchor shaft. The anchoring screw (13) is so constructed that the spiral flight (23) is rigid yet has some resilient flexibility which allows the flight to deflect laterally in the direction of the screw axis. Specifically, the screw flight (23) has sufficient rigidity to allow it to penetrate the ground in which it is intended to be used when torque is applied to the anchor shaft (11). Further, the screw flight (23) has sufficient rigidity in order to retain the ground anchor (10) embedded in the ground when subjected to the normal load conditions for which it is intended, as is the case with conventional ground anchors. The resilient flexibility provides the screw flight (23) with a degree of ‘springiness’, so allowing the screw flight (23) to deflect laterally in the direction of the screw axis when subjected to the loadings to which it is exposed when winding into the ground. With this arrangement, the pitch of the helical screw (25) is permitted to alter during ground embedment as ground pressure increases.
